I'm pretty scared right now
Damn California wildfires are coming close to my town. If the firefighters don't hold it back My entire town is being evacuated. Scary ****. I could lose my home, and possessions.

Yeah, well, it may not have started in the wild, some jackass carpenter did something wrong and got a spark, then was unable to put it out. Now it has spread across a section of California.

HAving lost everything in a fire.. make an escape plan. Get pictures, photo albums, gramma's recipe book, that special sweater your sister made at camp.. you know the things that can't be replaced. Box them up and put them somewhere you can grab them in an instant. Get health records, medicines, etc. ready. Take bank records, credit cards, and get some cash on hand for emergency expenses. Make sure the car has a full tank of gas and if your family is in different places during the day (work, school, appts) make a plan of how you will get together and if you can't get together how you will link up later.
You know that the situation is dangerous.. make these plans now so you have time to think through things when you have the time.. At the point when you get 1 hour to get gone, is not the time to think of everything.
Good luck and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.
