I just applied to Eau Claire and havnt heard back... I highly doubt i will get and financial aid with a step dad who is a computer dude and making a ton of money, and my mom is on tv (even though she hardly makes anything, but hey, still more money). Oh well, i have to go find a real job (im working on a farm) and start saving for college.

I get $9k/year (25% tuition) so long as I hold a 3.5 at my school. Tough stuff though.

i am not really interested in attending Drexel, but i thought it was pretty exciting

Same here. Middle class get's ****ed the most. Not rich enough to afford college on our own. Not poor enough to get aid. So I have to take out a loan that will put me in debt for a while.

Touche.
I applied to Oklahoma State, UT, and Texas A&M.
Got into OSU and thats where I am going, haven't heard from either Texas school yet and don't really care.
Only scholarship I got was an academic one for a certain SAT score, 6k a year bringing tuition down to instate level. I was only 20 points off another $1000 too...

I still need to start applying for financial aid and grants.. I'll be getting TONS of them. Between a bankruptcy and my dad's unemployment, I can guarantee I could get my first two years at community college paid for. Probably still end up taking out some student loans just to help pay for living expenses.

You want free room and board? Become an RA.

You usually have to be at least a sophomore for that, if not a junior.

It's not hard to become an RA as a sophomore at my school. Impossible as a freshman of course, but that's still a possible 3 years of free room and board to take into account. Your own room and having it on your resume is sweet too. Of course, you have to actually you know... do work, instead of just live there.

**** my life.
I get straight A's (honors/AP), I'm on the A-Team for Policy Debate/Captain, Varsity Tennis, on the state cabinet for JSA, NHS, CSF, etc. BUT I'm white and my parents are engineers. So I'll get into good colleges, but it's going to **** us/me financially.

Don't be a prick about it. I'd much rather be in your position then having a piss-poor family and myself having bad grades.

They have government jobs, so they would be making more then other engineers. And although I wasn't being a prick 1337, its just frustrating to me that although I work my ass off year round, because my parents did the same thing and went to college, someone who may not work as hard or be as smart will get into a college I could have, and for cheaper.
Sorry about the runon sentence.
