got a butane lighte that blows up on me.
I'm not sure where to put this, my butane lighter worked great after i bought it, but then it started not lighting even though there was gas coming out. it definately sparks. I ran it out of fluid trying to make it work, but noticed if i lit it with a match/other lighter it would simply blow up in my hand and not shoot out a nice jet. I figured it needed refilld; tonight i refilled it and it's doing the same ting anybody have experience with butane lighters?

That's my guess. The cheap ones with the little screw on bottom tend to be finicky about where the adjusting screw is set.

My hand is missing half of the hair on it because of this. if I had a camera, I'd show you
I'll try adjusting the setting, it's definitely one of those cheap ones with the screw on the bottom. I did try it at a low output and it sorta did the same thing, just not as dramatic. I was able to get it to light at nearly full power(as I so lovingly call it) and there was a HUGE ball of flame and my hand got scorched; i tossed it across my room and it slowly burned out.(is that important i wonder, that after i release the valve, it slowly burns out? it's doing that every time) I'm starting to think it's not shooting out right. It seems to be shooting out on all sides instead of in one direction.

lol, the only problem i've ever had similar to this one is overfilling a zippo and not realizing it. LIt it, flud ignited, and the lighter caught fire and so did my hand. Rofl. Luckily it was in the bathroom sink *ceramic* so i didn't have to worry.
But the fire of a zippo is not as bad as the fluid. You notice the fire, and it's easily blewn out. If some how, you spill the fluid, and you sit in it, you will feel like this.
1. You will feel a tiny bit of wetness
2. Your nuts will feel like you just dropped them on the top of a stove.......

So thats why there are no Asian girls in Fort Wayne, they're all at Purdue. I love Asian girls...
As far as the lighter problem, I've never really had a problem with a butane lighter so I unfortunately am of no use to you.
