crest whitstrips
ok so, I've been drinking alot of Dr P over the past few years and my teeth show it....alot. I mentioned that i was going to stop drinking dark soft drinks to my gf and she said that she notices that my teeth are pretty yellowed. She's not normally one to point out appearance defects which means that it's more than just noticeable.
so...i bought some of those crest whitestrip thingies and i was wondering if anyone has ever had any kinda experience w/ them?

If you use them too much they can really be bad for your teeth, that's all I know

I used some form of them once, and the tasted like ****. At least this one kind did. We had another kind and they weren't that bad. My teeth are pretty white I don't worry about it but my dad smoked for a long time and wanted to try it out. Maybe my mom was in on it too I don't know. Either way, whitening toothpaste is where I would go. You have to brush anyway and so you don't have to worry about doing all that extra ****.

I read up on them. Supposedly they can hurt your gums for the first few days, but they do work.
I might try them out. I'm a coffee fiend.

I've had them before. My teeth were already pretty white, but they worked great and made them even whiter. Definitely recommended.
They do make your gums tingle a bit the first few times, but unless you're a pansy you'll be fine. They do leave a kind of weird residue...almost has the consistency of snot or something, but it's not really that gross. Just spit it out.

I have thought about trying them. I have some that my mom tried for a while. I don't know about them though.

I used them for a little bit, when I was drinking Dr P and Coke a lot (same boat as you).
My teeth were just tinted yellow (not bad at all) but they're pearly whites now!
They're highly recommended by me.

I agree with jin on his points. I had them, and I started noticing a difference (or thought I started noticing one) after 3 days or so. I did it for a week, not 10 days, and I was pleased with my results. I will probably get the 10day one soon. Also, if you have sensitive teeth, don't eat or drink cold or hot foods afterwards for a little while. Sometimes when I'd take them off, i'd just be sitting there and i'd open my mouth, and the air conditioning would hit me and it hurt my teeth. Not really something to worry about, I think it said that was normal on the package.
I'd recommend it.

Yeah same here. I had chocolate the other day for the first time in a while, and it hurt, and it made me sad. I guess i'm glad I don't really really like chocolate.

Oh, and to add on to what mLuH said - I stopped after a week I think. When I tried them, it was a 14 day pack. I stopped noticing results after ~6-7 days. They work really great for the first 3-4 days, and then start to drop off around day 6. That could be why they are sold as 10 day packs now.

If you buy Crest Whitestrips, don't buy the classics. They are too much of a hassle, take forever and you get annoyed after a while because you can't notice a difference very quickly. Definitely buy the Premiums, if you do, one of my best friends used them and all the girls could tell the difference. And really, that's all that matters.
I personally use the Listerine Whitening (or the store brand equivalent of it, they are the exact same so ignore the whole 'this is not sold as a store brand' crap). I started using it at the beginning of my mission and it works really well. Plus it doubles as mouthwash, so you knock out two birds with one stone. Granted, I don't ever drink pop anyway so that might be part of why it worked so well.
