yeah, it's kind of one of things that you just have to pick-up as you go along.

There is a price. There is a customer paying that price. They either give you a check, a credit card, or cash. Check, you close it as cash and just put it in the register. Credit card, swipe it, get receipt, done. Cash, subtract how much they need to paid by how much they give you, and just give them the rest back.
Most registers are also computer operated. Example, the amount due is $7.48 (the price of a large one topping at Papa Johns mon.-wed., carry out only.) The customer give you a $10, so you type $10 in place of $7.48, and $2.52 comes up (the change), the register opens, you give out the money.

most places that take check make you run it through some type of machine that writes on it.
I know I used to have to at the grocery store I worked at.

It's pretty simple. The trick is remembering where all the buttons are so you can move along as quickly as possible.
You'll learn to hate coupons though.

Well I have an interview for a Quicktrip (gas station) and on the application I MAY have said that I had experience with a cash register. If anything I guess I could just say that their register is way different than the one I used.

You lied!
Anyway it shouldn't be a big problem. They should teach you and the buttons are probably marked. If not, you should mark them.

Dude, it's a gas station. I don't think they were looking for the world's best cashier... They will train you on it and you'll be fine.

Yeah....Lying on applications about things like that can bite you in the ass. It's easy to learn how to use a register. Don't worry

Sounds like Wawa. But Wawa is better because Wawa is better than everything in the universe.

I hear rumors of wawa, but QT will blow teh doors of any gas station anywhere. You walk into one and it's like walking into a fantasy world where everything you wish for is there.

That's pretty much Wawa. But Wawa has high class prostitutes who hand feed you grapes while you do your business.

No, QuikTrip is simply the best. There are 7 or 8 of them within a 5 mile radius of my house, it's ****ing amazing. That's the only gas station I ever go to. I buy all my gas and food/drink there.
Oh and RAM JAM is the ****ING BEST DRINK EVER! ONLY AT QT!!!!
