My gf and I of 15 months broke up today. I was the one who initiated it. We've been fighting on and off over the course of the summer. She's about to be a senior in HS and i'm a soph in college. The fights were always about something i did that she didn't like. I never felt the need to point out all of her flaws and the day finally came when i couldn't take the one sided battery of criticisms anymore. I still like her a lot because i know she cares for me...she just hasn't really matured to the point of looking past people's flaws. (she does it to everyone) and i don't think a relationship as fragile as ours can be maintained over the distance (hour drive from college to our suburb) since i'm in the band and will be doing things related to the football team every weekend including away games.

Idk why i'm posting this. I don't really need advice on it...i just need to vent somehow.

I kind of feel you. I'm a freshmen in College and my girlfriend is about to be a senior in High School. It sucks because she has a curfew, lives under her parent's rules, all that kind of stuff. I mean it could be worse and everything will work out fine, but damn it sucks having to put up with some of that stuff. Just another year then it'll be all good, minus the fact that she'll be at K-State while I'll still be at Community College.

well maybe the change will be good for you.. after all nobody wants to be put down all of the time.

The break up is for the best. Who knows what will happen when she matures a little. Younger girls are a no no.

understandable. me and my ex of 2 years were the same exact way except i was 2 years younger than her. I understand your standpoint...and trust me even though she may point out flaws and stuff she really cares for you though. But the thing you have that i didn't have though is the age difference, when your in college i think it may just be better to date college people rather than high school kids, or else you get the feeling that you never graduated
