Not that I consider metallica to be especially good, but I can see their appeal.

First off all......I hate bud light. It tastes like piss water. Second off i don't like country. Third, I can't stand metallica due to their crappy music, as well as the hypocritical bull**** they pulled with napster.

Hypocritical? What's hypocritical about not wanting people to steal their music they work hard to make? That's like calling you a hypocrite cuz someone stole your stang and you complained about it. Unless you're also stealing others' mustangs (and unless Metallica is using napster to steal music), they aren't hypocrites. I don't understand why everyone demonizes them for trying to protect what they made. Sure, they're millionaires, but does that mean that they're obligated to let people steal their **** without complaining? If you were a millionaire, would you not complain if random people came by your house and kept stealing stuff from it? Would you not complain if hundreds of thousands of people had access to your bank account and took even a dollar a piece out? When hundreds of thousands (maybe even millions? I don't know) of people all take a dollar out of your account, it adds up. And it still comes back to my point, why do rich people not get to protect their financial interests, but anyone else can? Why make it seem like they're bad guys for doing what any of us would do if in a similar situation?

Dislike their music all you want, but don't try to fault them for the napster thing. They just had the balls to stand up to it and do something about it.

I call it hypocritical because Metallica was one of few bands that always said "its for the music, not the money" and that they just wanted to be heard. But as soon as they lost a little money they changed their whole stance.

But might I add though, look what Napster has lead to. If it weren't for Napster, iTunes music may have never came around, and I know Apple is making bank with their music store.

I haven't bought a CD since Kid Rock released his first album. I was like in 5th grade and my Sister and I discovered Napster. Then Morpheus, then the wonderful world of torrents.

I still buy albums and such of bands I support. I also buy albums if they have extra stuff packaged with it....dvd's, album art, etc. Old **** where the actual musicians probably aren't profiting at all or are dead, I torrent. If I once bought the albums but have since lost/destroyed them, torrent.

Figured alot of people would be critical. If you just laid back and forgot that they were Metallica, then you wouldn't have all these unmet expectations. Truth is, this stuff surpasses st. anger tenfold. And to be honest I was expecting this album to be WORSE than st. anger.

So overall I'm optimistic. I'm not like every other cliche metallica fan that disowned them after they cut their hair (give me a break). I enjoy the Load & Reload albums, and St. Anger would have a few decent tracks if the production quality went up.

Music is music to me. I don't expect Metallica to put out another Master of Puppets. Like I said, once you let go of all of the expectations of Metallica, you become much more opened to the newer stuff they put out. (And by newer I mean 1987-2008).

Oh and the real answer why Metallica will never release an album like their first 3: Cliff Burton.
