where my northern midwest bros at?
we've gotten something like 9 inches so far. went into work at 1:30 today, decided to close at 4:30 and since I came in instead of calling in like a ***** I get paid for a full shift. pretty awesome, even though I almost died on the drive home (took me an an hour 10 mins, normally takes half hour). fwd not so good in this kinda weather.
WHO'S GETTIN SNOWED ON????

It's super windy here and cold, but it rained most of the night so everything is frozen. not any snow to speak of though, just some white dusting.

We were expecting 5 inches, mostly overnight - but to the point where the plows shouldn't have been able to keep up. We received... enough to make it look like there's snow.
I decided to snap a quick photo and send it to someone out of the region, and someone relatively close to my location.
Out of Region: "Oh! So pretty!"
In Region: "Why are you sending me a picture of that white ****?"
Commute took me 25 minutes longer than my usual 35ish minute ride in. The worst part, actually, was the industrial route I take to snake into work. Everything else was plowed and salted. That access road was the only one where I wasn't in full control of my vehicle coming around a turn and then when attempting to stop.

yeah on my way home it's mostly highway but probably 3 miles total of 35-45 mph roads all of which I was doing 25 max. fishtailed quite a few times and almost missed a couple turns. fun stuff.

Front wheel drive doesn't help with the fish-tailing so much...but when you lose control of the vehicle...it tends to get a bit scary...
I currently drive a Civic with an Gen8 body style.. Featherweight car, wide tires. Its great in the snow unless you're turning...heh.
Usually you have to drift or slide through turns to keep momentum so you don't get stuck..as the tires no longer cut through snow due to weight:width ratio. There have been many a fun day where I've had to do some creative drifting and breaking...

I used to *LOVE* driving my '91 Z-28 in the snow. No rear weight, rear drive, and wide tires. Never had any issues on my Ford Focus, and of course I live in the desert now so I'll never have to drive one of my cars in it again as long as I'm here.

Wow we even had a bit of snow here in the southeast but nothing stuck except in the appilachians
