Depends, i have went through thousands of dollars in it, the bike is anywere from 2000-6000, helmet 100-300, boots 150-300, jeresy and pants 200-300 and then u gotta buy parts to keep up yur bike and performance parts, and everything like that, its best if u start young, there is a kid in the fifth grade that is one of my friends, he races he can whoop my ass on his 65 and i ride a 125  , he has a full bike sponsorship from ktm, they give him bikes all the time but it all depedns what the prices are in yur area
