Patching MSN Emoticons In 7 Easy Steps!

(for MSN Messenger 5x)
Example:
Programs Needed:
1. ResHack (Can be found with many search engines)
2. Image editing program (Paintshop Pro, Photoshop)
Instructions:
Step 1. Save this .png file to your hard drive,
.png are the image files that MSN Messenger uses for its images
Step 2. Open the .png saved on your hard drive
Edit the emoticon(s) that you want to patch
*each emoticon uses 19x19 dimensions
Step 3. Open ResHack
Click File Open...
and open msnmsgr.exe from Program Files
(ie. C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger/msnmsgr.exe)
Step 4. Expand the PNG Folder
Expand the 727 Folder
and Highlight 1033
Step 5. Click Action,
Click Replace other Resource
Step 6. In the Replace other Resource window click Open file with new resource... and select the .png file saved on your hard drive
Below 'Resource Type' type PNG
Below 'Resource Name' type 727
Then Click Replace
*View attachment for example
Step 7. Click File,
Save As..
and enjoy your new emoticons!
