Real racing thread(try this again)
alright, maybe in this thread we can actually discuss street racing. post what you think of it, and what car you race if you do. right now i have an '88 grand am coupe with a 5 speed. (yeah i know i know.) it's got the quad 4 in it and it's a speedy car, but i'm not a real fan of working on it. everything is so jammed packed in there, even putting in the new alternator a few days ago bit.
but anywho, i don't race that often really, just every now and then when people get really cocky. and my car doesn't really look that fast, so i like surprising people. she's only hits about 96 in the quarter tho  . its lame, but better than nothing i guess. i'm not gonna get anything else till i'm outta college pry, so she's gonna have to make due.

.....wish i could drive, im 14. My moms friend has a 97 mustang im gonna get it when i get my license we already worked out a deal and stuff so as long as he dnt crash the thing im gonna have a mustang

all i have is a 88 mazda 626. nothin special. i wish i could get my uncle's 5.0 mustang...it's really nice. that, or the vette my dad's friend has. it's one of those really swoopy 80's/90's ones (i think early 90s), just absolutely GORGEOUS

there's this moron in town who had a mazda pickup. small thing, no balls. he's got street glow under it and stuff, and put his subs in a plywood box in the back. haha. anyways, he thought the thing was fast and bet a friend of mine 50 bucks. well the mazda hit 60 i think(no joke, 60) and my friend hit around 90. lol.

Yeah, where do you guys get all the money for mustangs and stuff??? Man, I wish I knew where... I wanna get my dads 65' Impala SS or his Datsun 510. Those things are sweet... We are workin on both of them right now.. The impala can shake our house it is so loud. hehe

Only racing im into is circuit and road racing. Dont like pushin my car tot he max in a straight line, quite lame IMO.
Drag is for fast cars.
Roadrace is for fast drivers.

Ive been around racing since i was little, i know what skill is involved in drag racing, Right clutch timing and precise shifting.
In road race its all that and more! You get to push your car to the limit vs other cars on a big road track goin threw turns and twists, couple straight lines, funnest thing in the world. You not only get to race in a straight line but race in turns.
I guess different strokes for different folks, but thats how i look at it.

I have respect for both drag & track, but like PaintGuin, I would much rather race on a course than just drag. I've been racing since I was 10, and it is so much fun. Mind you, I race go carts, not cars, but still, same principle.

after college i wanna get into customizing cars for people. performance upgrades, body kits, audio installation, ect. that's my dream job.
