I had the same problem when I was a Kid and needed to convince my parents that I wanted a dirtbike.I told them that It was safer than a streetbike and that I needed a cool hobby to keep me from becoming a gangster/thug.
If they say say no then start dressing like a wigger and start listening to lame arse rap music and walk around like a shaved ape holding your pakage and use the word "Yo" alot.

well thats all I do is trail ride I have a tw200 yamaha and a very dangerous 3 wheeler honda atc and there are 2 things I highly recommend steel toe boots and a kidney belt. I was riding on some trails once many years ago and I was wearing some vans and I hit a rock with my foot at about 40 mph and shattered 2 toes needless to say I now use steel toe riding boots.
and 2 strokes are being banned as far as I know but it may depend on where you live.

Ya it does lol that sux. I got dirt bike boots but i bring my normal stel toe nd real boots. I put the real 1's on when im hittin jumps nd stuff nd normal ones when i ride the trails soo sumtin like that happens 2 me lol. Well soo how tall r u nd how much u weigh nd 4strokes r more realiable then 2 strokes but if ur lookin for speed 2-s is good for.but since u ain't gonna race u shuld prolly go with a 4-s sooo what size u think wuld b good for u?

my parents wont even let me ride one. My friend at work got one for free cuz he helped some people move and they had a bike that the guy said didnt work, so my friend took it and spent 5 bucks on a fuel filter and some other minor stuff, broke the clutch loose, and it works great now. its a 1979 kx 250 i believe, but i only got to ride it once
