the hijackers more than likely told them that a- they were just hijacking the plane and holding the passengers hostage (not suicide attacking) and b- that if anyone did anything that they would set off a "bomb" by remote wwhere the bomb is "hidden somewhere". This is how almost all plane hijackings happen.

NNY is right. Planes were never hijacked to do damage before. It was always just to make the government meet some demands. They figured it wasnt worth their life to try and stop the hijackers, seeing as they thought they would be freed within the day.

The reason the 4th plane crashed in the middle of nowhere is because the people fought back. They had heard what happened with the other planes and they werent gonna sit back and watch.

Secondly, incase you didnt realize, it was after people bought out all of the flags from all of the stores that the companies started to make more. i dont know about the west coast of the US or down south or away from here, but after the first few weeks of 9/11, it was absolutely impossible to find a flag at a store. THAT is why companies started making more, our local home depot was giving flags out for free. So before you start pointing fingers, or say people took advantage of a profitable situation, take a look at some pictures of new york, new jersey, penn. washington, the whole east coast, after the first few months of sept 11, and you will not see one without a flag in front of a house, or on a car, or on a book bag. Ever heard of patriotism?

That may be patriotism, but its also the bandwagon. And that is what i hate. Once it happened, everyone just HAD to jump onto that america bandwagon and it was all WOOOOO GO AMERICA after that until a year later when shreddings of flag hung forgotten on the antennas on cars and when no one seemed like the big patriots. Now things seem a bit back to normal while still different but, it seemed liek it was all just a phase...and that pisses me off. Im not sayin we cant go on but someone shoulda tried bein a patriot before it was the big thing to do. Thats what pisses me off. It seems like it was just the tihng to do. People should have already had flags if any of them were actually patriotic.

It doesn't help that everyone went sue-happy over the event either. That and the government stepping in to cover the airlines and WTC owner's butts while placing the responsibility of compensation on the people as a whole was just another example of why the terrorists hate us in the first place.

It was a horrific event, hopefully we've learned something from it so it doesn't happen again.

This was definatally one of tje most tragic things in american history. not only where the hijackers ewvil men, they were cowards as well. Thewy snuck behind our backs, killed innocent ppl, and then now they dont have to live with what they did. this should never happen again.
and another thing about the price stuff, it is great to be patriotic, but when gas statuions jacked-up the pires to like $4 a galln because tthey thought it was an easy buck, thats jus worng. im glad this didnt destroy as a nation tho.

we cant live just saying "i love america" all the time. Then we wouldnt have the rights we have to disagree with our government, or other people, or be mad once in a while. The main reason people were patriotic for only a year was because family of victims, and soldiers need that kind of boost. At that time, you never saw any news programs of people arguing with eachother like usual, because what we needed at the time was hope, prayers, and unity. It doesnt mean we werent patriotic before. You dont have to hang a flag to be patriotic. You dont hve to have a sticker on your car to love this country, its just at that time, people realized it because they saw what kind of heros we have, what kind of world this is, and how lucky they are to live in america

my whole family donated, aunts uncles grandparents my parents etc, your not american if you didnt donate! and that makes me sick. we need to remember, but all the silly merchants needs to stop, but the praying and the stickin together needs to be there, especially over in iraq, if you dont support our president get the hell out of our country....... in my opinion!

when we were already attacking iraq, all those protesters were just huring our country. Not only did they injure cops, but saying that our troops do not belong in iraq, and what we were doing was evil only demoralizes our troops

yeah i know, by us not supporting it makes the troops feel like its not worth fighting, thats why support is needed. Not just sayin i love america but actually doing something about it. Raising money, prayer services etc

Look back to Vietnam. Part of the reason we did so ****ty was because the soldier moral was down the hole because of all they hippies and protests.

It was around 5 p.m. and I was in the middle of a meeting, trying to sell stuff from the U.S to some reps. One of the reps got a strange call saying a plane, trade center and explode? I didn’t get it. A few minutes later he got another call with the same thing… I still didn’t get it… I think I wanted the deal to go through more than to understand the situation. An hour later in my rented car going back to the hotel things started to get clearer.

I had mixed feelings to tell you the truth. There were many things that can happen in the world that WE the normal people should not and will not know. But this was so grotesque to be part of it.

Enter Afghanistan and Bin Laden.
The campaign was successful for a while there until we got pulled into Iraq for its collaboration with Al qaida, and WMD. You see Iraq was a dictators haven yet it was cut off by two horizontal parallel lines that its army shouldn’t cross, placed and enforced by the UK and US so that Saddam wouldn’t attack the Kurds north of the no fly zone and Kuwait south of the no fly zone.

Al qaida was in Iraq, but they were north of the no fly zone out of the Iraqi army’s reach well within the allied forces reach since 1991. In addition to that Saddam was an Atheist (now am not sure) who hated the sunni Bin laden (for later reference Iran is shi’at who hate bin laden too), and nothing in the world would get those two opposites together.

WMD is another story that I am not certain about yet and I am not going to throw accusations (yet).

Now the problem is that Bin Laden is still alive in Afghanistan (a war that should have been won and over), and the only area that is totally secure is the capital (literally)

All of this makes me relive the day after again and again, cause I see us back in the same place a few seconds after 09-11-01.
