Tokyo Marui guns are the most dependible guns out there.
The M16 Series, AK Series, and MP5(but i recommend M16 or AK47)are the best ones.
Ty has started a team at OSU so, you'd be more than welcome to try it out with them.
Once you get up to OSU, let Ty, or post on the forums at airsoftpacific.com and let us know. there are alwyas guns to loan so you don't have to throw out hte $300 and then find out you don't like it

If you do that it's even more expensive to make it decent.
Usually around $600+ to make a "sniper rifle" good.
DOn't buy a super 9, they're crap. absolute crap.
Get a M24.

Its also the off-topic section.
And kudos to people being civil, there is room in this world for both Paintball and Airsoft.

Yea Huey, chill, some of us are interested in more things then just paintball. I'm entering AFROTC at OSU so I'm interested in the mil-sim aspect. Question: Do you have to wear a full mask when playing? Or just glasses or the goggle part of a paintball mask?

It may be different for you guys, but full mask is usually optional here. You do however need at LEAST Paintball certified lenses. Some stupid people seem to think Ski goggles and shop glasses will do, but kiddies...

we arent stupid we know what airsoft is, and most people agree paintball is better but airsoft is nice.

Well, sure, if I asked a bunch of people that played Airsoft, "Which is better paintball or airsoft?" of course they are going to say airsoft, just as if you asked paintballers the same question, "Paintball". Ask people that have done both, I will bet that 95% of the time Airsoft will be the responce you get. Airsoft offers everything that paintball does, and then more. Also keep in mind that, at least up here, most people that play airsoft now, used to play paintball.
Also, Springers and Mini-Electrics AREN'T airsoft, those are jokes. Everyone here is talking about Airsoft as a Military Simulation.

Can't forget EBB's, The worst guns ever made.
Seen TM's new Marketing project, EBB "Bab Boys"?
They're EBB rifles like M4's, G36's etc..But not even 1:1.
Sickening.

Just because I havn't played doesn't mean I've never seen a game, talked to the players etc etc.
However, I'm done bickering. If you want to keep *****ing with me over really dumb things, do so in a PM.

If you're going to go all out on Sniper, I suggest just snagging a SG1.
But just you wait...Not long until TM releases the god of all Rifles.
I'm pretty sure it's Electric, not GBB, but...Oh...My...God...

Drools is right...
If you can actually find a model out there, which is absolutely impossible because no one in the right mind would sell this, there's a few GBB's with ejecting shells. If you can find it, there's a movie of it Kazaa I saw a while back.
It's amazing.

It's wayy too expensive to start. I mean to get an TM MP5 it's already like $600+. That's without other equipment. I just got into paintball with $300...

I didn't mean to start, I just meant people who are really into the sniping in AS would do well with something like an upped PSG1 or something like that.
M16A2's and M4A1's are pretty good starter guns, go for around 500 give or take a few from Tru, Correct Kev?

600 plus?? For the gun alone they cost between $200-300, throw in a battery a hicap and 1 charger and you are around $400.
