Airsoft-can't we all just get along?
Hey there fellow people who play with gun like objects, let me share with you my new passion.
Well I just got back into Airsoft, which is basically like paintball but ya shoot plastic bbs at around and use 1:1 replica weapons like m4s, aks, mp5s, glocks etc. These guns shoot acurately to 100ft and even more if you get a sniper and upgrades.
Check out Airsoftretreat.com for a ton more details and the best forums available.
I just started my own team in Corvallis, OR and we are helping to establish Oregon as one of the premier Airsoft communities, along with California and Texas.
Check us out at http://www.airsoftpacific.com/index.cfm?base=forums
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to paintball or are into milsim, using "real guns" ( agencies train with these puppies) and basically like to play soldier, ya gotta give it a try, most events let people borrow and rent, just use Google and find out about Airsoft in your area.
!S and hope Airsoft brings you joy and new friendships!
Some of the APST guys looking badass with thier "toys."

It's just like Paintball...Expensive as hell to start. However, It's much cheaper.
The ratio of bb's to paintballs is like 20:1, they're cheap as dirt.
And plus, you don't to to pay for anything like re-fills if you've got a socket at home. Unless you have a GBB, you don't need anything like that.
It's infinitley cheaper.
Also, it's just as exepnsive in the states.

I have 4 airsoft (but an asian brand) type guns that I bought when I was in Korea (they cost around 10 bux there). Airsoft is fun and the BB's still sting a lil. Once I got shot in the face and the BB broke one of the lenses I had in my glasses, just straight up shattered it.

This may be a "Paintball" forum, but... Paintball and Airsoft are quite similiar, therefore i think it's quite on topic to post it here.
Don't be closeminded.
Those of you that are in Oregon that want to try it out, no need to wait til you get a gun, just drop us an e-mail or post on the Airsoft Pacific forums, There are always guns to loan/rent.

Jesus christ.. Maybe some people don't know? That was about the most pointless post ever... well, except for the "this isn't a airsoft forum" post....

A lot of players do both.
For the AEG's(the expensive guns) you have to use quality bb's, which even then, they're extremely cheap when you compare it to buying paintballs($13 for a bag of 3700 bb's).
The paintball bb's will shatter and eff your gun up.

I live in Selma, which is in Southern Oregon, But I'll be going to OSU in Corvallis next Nov. though, I've been looking at airsoft guns, I'm kinda getting bored with paintball and its hurtin' my wallet. Are those Tokyo Mauri guns good? I can't find a lot of info on any of them...?!
