Hey, I was wondering if any people in this forum cared about baseball at all. Well...if you do. What do you think about the Alex Rodriquez deal that sent him to the Yankees? Do you think that this shows how there is something wrong with baseball?

Yea, there should definately be a salary cap of...about $75 million...it'd sure make things alot more fair, like in football where there aren't very many 'dynasties'.

Don't you think 75 million is way to low? I mean I am NOT a Yankee fan by any stretch. I live in the NY area, and I'm a Mets fan, but I still think dynasties are a good thing. There will never again be a GREAT team in football. Twenty five years from now you are gonna wind up saying ya i remember in the NFL there was that team that was a little better then everyone else. Thats not good. In basesball there actually is greatness. The yankees spent 175 million last year, and they still lost to the MARLINS who have a payroll under 50 million. Shows that money isnt everything. The other owners that are billionaires should fork over 25 million dollars into their team instead of putting it into their pockets. Look at the Brewers and Reds both of them get new stadiums and promise to put more money into the team. What do they do? The Reds in less then ONE year start cutting payroll, and the Brewers in a couple of years also cut payroll by trading away their best player, Richie Sexson.

whos fault is it that arod has a salary over 100 million? The rangers, cant blame anyone but them for giving him such a contract that will never go away

he does not deserve to go to the yankees he sucks big ones. that and the yankees pay off ther teams so that they will win. you cant tell me they dont cuz no one can ever wins that many world series games without cheating they have the money to do it also

this is yet another perfect example of how bad of sellouts the yanks really are.

a rod originally tried to get into the red sox, but they, unlike the yankees, are not sellouts, and wouldnt accept him.

Spud WTF are you talking about honestly? You don't remember all those trade talks with the Red Sox and Rangers and how Arod wanted to defer money but the MLBPA wouldn't let him. You are VERY mistaken. In fact, I've heard allegedly the Red Sox made a last second offer to accept Arod. They would take his WHOLE contract, and they were told to go F*** Off.

O and about the Cubs. Damn Kenny Lofton. What about that Steve Bartman? If you dont know who he is he's the fan that stopped Moises Alou from getting an out in that terrible 8th inning for Cubs fans.

Hey, the Braves might not be as rich as the Yankees, but they have quite a bit of money themselves. I don't think Ted Turner is in charge of the team anymore, but when he was he didn't put money out like Steinbrenner, and the guy is a freaking billionaire. You can't argue with Steinbrenner's desire to win and invest money into his team. Other owners are just to cheap to realize that spending the extra money might hurt them in the short run, but in the long run it could make them millions.

yankees are sellouts. they buy whoever is the current fad, which is why they always get so far. look at the yankees last 10 years worth of roster and look at any othe team's. yankees are trading people more than anyone by far
