Check the classifies in your local area thats where you will find the best deal. I got a 88 mustang with a highly modified 302 and drive train with a custom paintjob for $4000 it was a steal. I think I am gonna post a pic of it with my gun as my signature but I need to wash it first. But I need to wait until it warms up first its way too cold to wash it right now

LOL you should edit and erase "A REAL CAR" cause the Ford Focus is in the same class (Sport Compact Vehicle) as a Honda Civic.
That was a good deal you got on the Focus though and they make a ton of aftermarket parts for your car to make it go "FAST" but your right though, If I were you I would use the money and buy a 1998+ YAMAHA R1 that way you would blow away any MF on the street and track!
That's why I sold my 240sx, but my bike got stolen last year. so make sure you don't end up like me.

I am the first the say that a Ford Focus isn't a real car. It is a ***** car. And it is slow.
If I wanted a good car, I would buy a Camero or Mustang, or something similar. Not a ****ing rice burner. But I can't get a cheap one that will last a long time.
The way I look at it, a car gets me from point A to point B. When I have to drive 2000 miles, I don't want to be worring about my car making it or not.
I don't have the nicest or fastest car, but when I go on a roadtrip with my friends, we take my car.
And I said "car" way to many times that post. I hate cars.

You must be living in the caves of Utah because people are over the "RICE BURNER vs. DETROIT POWER" for a long time now! Plus someone already suggested those two options.........Come out of your Cave every now and then so you can keep yourself updated.

First, become very good friends with the owner and employees of the best import shop in town. Then, get the hook-up from them on a GS-R swap. Header, exhaust, intake, and maybe some porting and polishing. If (and it's a very, very big IF) you can get an awesome hook-up, get the beast turbo'd. My bro has a '93 hatch with a GS-R in it, and a cracked header. He brought it to the track (in full trim), on street tires, and dropped a 14.2 missing a shift. With an exhaust, new header, and a better intake, I am confident that a high 13 is easy on street tires. A couple of friends of mine with 12 second daily driven Hondas get all of their stuff (essencially) for free because they either: A) work at the shop or B) have worked at the shop and are still good friends with everyone there. Good luck with your car, and I hope it turns out great. Just remember that research (and sometimes eBay) is your friend. Hope I helped. Later.
BTW, a buddy of mine is about to get his CRX back with a built H22 in it.

No No No NissanTunerDude.......trust me you don't wanna buy a Skyline from ebay unless it's been converted by Motorex. I bought a 1995 Nissan Skyline GTS-T directly from Japan for a little over $5k (Sold my Green Civic to get the Money) and put it this way I couldn't get the documents from the EPA & NHTSA so all my money went down the drain and the car was auctioned off and shipped back out to another country! There is no such thing as an Import fee unless your talking about the Customs Tax.
Anyways I was talking about a 2000+ Nissan Skyline GTR not a GTS or GTS-T which run about that price.
TRUST ME FROM EXPERIENCE DO NOT BUY A SKYLINE ON EBAY UNLESS IT'S BEEN IMPORTED by MOTOREX

Wow by the time he's able to get a hook up (because friendship take a while to build) He'll already have saved up enough to by a better car! Even if he does get in close with them he'll still have to spend a fortune to do all of that! Just cause your their friends doesn't mean everything is free, the shop still has to make money. Even wholesale prices for the shop isn't that low to be able to give free parts for their employees and friends.....

LOL. No, I don't live in a cave, I am just old-school.
Remember Pearl Harbor? I am not giveing those mothers any money, when I can buy american made. True, most of this **** that we buy is made over seas already.
Americans forget easily. Some day we will remember, when we run out of jobs because ALL of our industry went overseas.
Why the hell would one drip $4000 grand into a 4 banger that is slow? And WTF is the deal with those damned spoilers and pop cans? If you are going to put money into performance, put it into a car that is already fast.
I know someone else already suggested a camero or mustang. It was a good suggestion. Just another vote in the democratic USA.

Because it's the challenge of making the slow car go as fast as possible. Yeah I agree with you on those ugly shopping cart spoilers! HaHa, but remember we can forgive but never ever forget what happened in Pearl Harbor.
Your right most of our products are made over seas, and it isn't their fault that our jobs being offered out of our great country, it's the greedy "American" corporate executives that are offering the jobs to those forign nations so they can build on their Millions & Billions of dollars.
Anyways I still say get a Motorcycle!

Absolutly correct. The labor is much cheaper there. Actually many companies HAVE to go overseas just to stay a float. We make more an hour than those guys make a day.
Ummm. The challenge of making a slow car go fast. Interesting. Works for me!

I doubt you can avoid spending money on Japan-made products.
So do you think the Japanese are still out to get us? Then maybe you think all Germans are Jew-hating Nazis? Just because Japan made a stupid mistake 50 years ago doesn't mean all of the Japanese citizens supported it, or want all Americans to die today.
Also, from your comment on America "running out of jobs" makes me think that you believe illegal aliens are "stealing our jobs." See http://www.maddox.xmission.com/c.cgi?u=walmart
But anyways, I do agree that the erector-set wings and fart cans are incredibly stupid. And I do think that the ricers are pretty retarded when they think their econo-boxes can beat sports cars. But coming from a car nut's perspective, making a car that is "slow" is the fun part. My Tbird is slow, but only for so long. My dad thinks I should just get a Mustang, but that just puts me in with the tons of people doing the same thing, and where's the fun in that? I want my car to be a sleeper; no show and all go. The ricers are all show and no go. I can't wait to get my engine in there with a nice lopy cam and start hanging with stock Mustangs in my granny car.
