Hey I was just wondering, what kind of SAT scores did you have. Im planning on applying soon, im a junior in highschool. Right now im scoring a 1250, which is ok I guess. I also have a lot of accomplishments.

How tough do you think it is to get in?

I had a **** load of clubs Honors Society, Vice President, Etc.
A 4.0167 GPA and a 1360 on the SATs.
and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award

Its ****ing hard as hell to get into

LOL that's one of the most amusing things I've seen in a long time.

That sucks that you didn't get into MIT, but consider this- out of my entire school only one kid got accepted, and he's got a 4.87 GPA. He is the ultimate geek/schoolaholic, so I would hope you didn't fit that same criteria...

I hope you applied to other colleges, because if you didn't then I have no pity for you. Where else you lookin' at?

it's not surprising to me at all, what i can say is MIT is overrated....can get the same level of learning for much less and in a much better atmosphere someplace else....i remeber when i visited the campus back in 2000, wow what a nerd kingdom. I'm glad i didnt go there.

don't feel bad. my friend chris got a 1600 on his SAT and a 36 on his act (i think he was the only person in the state to get that on both this year) and he didn't get in. he got into every ivy league school he applied to though. MIT is seriously the hardest school to get into in the nation, u pretty much need a 1450 and up to be considered, or have mad honars.

id say MIT is about as hard to get into as harvard princeton and yale... they all have various ups and downs in how they accpet people (depends what classes they need to fill, how man applications they get that year, what particular subjects they favor, etc etc etc)

a girl in my sisters class was offered free tuition at harvard, princeton and yale becuase she is like the freakin smartest girl in new england (and shes hot too!!) she got a 1600 SAT had a 4.6 GPA, knew spanish and french fluently, and was involved in more honors stuff than anyone since her time. she was so smart that she couldnt take math her senior year-she had already outpaced all of her teachers and by 11th grade she knew more than them (yea that includes advanced trig, advanced calculus, etc)

I have a 1300 SAT, and right now I have a 1.5 GPA

cuz I've missed a helluvalot of classes for various reasons (funeral, working a polling place, being sick, etc.). I'm supposed to only need 2 classes, English and Econ/Govt., but I ended up w/ 5 classes

I hate school!!!

you take honors classes. in an honors class you get a letter grade added (10 points basically) to your final grade (if you get a b it becomes an a, not too hard to understand) and if you get an a, they add 10 points to your a and it goes above 100% as your final grade the

yea, i got a 4.2 1st quarter and a 4.0 second. i have neither times did i have strait a's either

. i have seriously done no work this year, senior year, even w/ AP classes, is a push over.

I don't think you get a whole letter grade, i think it's like .10 or .20 added to your GPA. I know my Chemistry Honors was augmented (or some big word like that), so if you got like a C, you could have it go on your record as having a B in Chem P instead of a C in Chem H.
