a quick critique would be a big help
ok, so im going to apply at this aquatic fish supply store, and they asked as a application to make a resume and a paragraph of my knowledge in aquatic fish and maintence. so can some one help me out real quick like and read this over and tell me what they think.
As a possible candidate for an employee, I bring with me the knowledge and experience in the maintainence of aquatic life and aquariums. Although I don’t presently own any aquatic animals, I do have a higher understanding for I have owned exotic fish in the past. By owning beforehand I was able to create a foundation for the cleaning and changing of filters, checking of the PH level and required temperatures of the water. Not only do I understand the importance of having a correct tank setup, but also what species of fish need a certain type of surroundings to flourish. But most importantly I am a friendly person to work with and a knowledgable and curteous young man.

My only question. Aquatic fish as opposed to what exactly? I mean, I'm pretty certain all fish are aquatic.

maintainence=maintenance
curteous=courteous
other than that, it isn't like there's a whole lot of competition for the job, is there? just go in, be confident, and you'll get it.

Don't point out that you don't currently have any fish, it needlessly detracts. You have some years of experience in maintaining an aquarium, that's the important thing. If they ask in the interview, state that you've had a tank in the past, don't have one currently "because of (whatever)", but still have a desire to get another one when (whatever) circumstances allow. This shows that you do know about tanks, gave them up for a while when you were no longer able to properly devote yourself to their care, but still have an interest in them.
Not bad overall.
