It's a genetic mutation shutting off the gene that slows muscle growth. It was a natural mutation.

He may also get a lot of money from pharmacutical companies from the testing they do when they release a supplement similar to his mutation and make millions selling to bodybuilders

The possibility that they'll develop a cure for muscular dystrophy out of this is just fantastic.

Of course, the drug companies are going to make sure that no one with the disease can afford it.

I have a feeling the kid will die of heart failure at ~20. I just don't see him making it.

man thats bull sh*t, he's gonna get all the german chicks! ...there arent many of them, but the ones that are!
he can be rich, he can go to those strength compatitions... get like first place and come back next year and next year and the year after..

But the heart is a muscle, so he should have a strong heart.

There's a reason we have myostatin. It's not like our body decides to produce quantities of something that hurts us for no reason. The fact that this kid has a serious defiency is a big problem. That kid isn't going to live a long healthy life. Cardiovascular and respitory and all those other important things are going to fail eventually. But I'm sure body-builders from around the world are going to try to mimic his problem before his death proves that major changes in the human body leads to nothing but trouble.
