i came here to university of dallas and didnt expect to play any sports. i heard about the rugby club/team and so i went out. it is 2 practices a week for 2 hours and its a blast. ive never played before but picked up on it very quickly.

this past saturday we played a round robin tourney and won every time, and only got scored on once. some of the older guys are really good but all of them are cool guys. it is the hardest sport ive ever played...40 minutes halves nonstop play...it was the hardest day of my life, but one of the funnest things ive ever done.

i cant wait for our match this coming saturday...its gonna kick ass. we're also Division 1 NCAA...which is cool. Univ. of Dallas is a Division 3 school and the rugby program is the only one that competes Div. 1....so we play schools like Texas Tech and such, biiiig schools, my school is only 2000 undergrads.

tl:dr Rugby is better than your sport

Rugby is so hardcore. I saw a guy get hit from both sides at once one time, near his hip bone. His legs turned black, blue, and purple, and he kept on playing until he couldn't play anymore.

im more sore than ive ever been in my life. every part of my body hurts cuz i got hit everywhere i could get hit(except down low).

oh yea and the coach is funny as hell, he smokes on the sidelines while coaching, and goes to some of the keggers the guys have. hes a great guy and its a blast playing.

that night we had a 2 keg and learned some rugby songs that are funny as hell but we had to sing them before girls got there cuz girls get offended or whatever.

either way, great sport and i suggest it to anyone looking for a contact sport with a better exercise than anything you could ever do.

I love rugby! I watched it like 24/7 when I was in London & Dublin. They are so hardcore it's crazy. I bought two rugby balls when I was in Dublin, one says Ireland on it with some shamrocks, and the other says Guiness on it.

Oh yeah and on the ferry going to Ireland we watched a rugby team get drunk off their asses. They started singing these cool songs, and one guy started puking into an empty pitcher. Someone on the trip got a picture of it, it was hilarious.

see, but dhill, when you mention rugby, everyone thinks of austrailian rugby, where they kick the ball around and ****, but i thats not whay your talking bout.

my bro plays on his colleges team and its a great bunch of guys, i go up and party with em every now and then. they throw the most *****in parties and all the hotties on campus show up, then we sing rugby songs when we want the people to get out be casue it annoys everyone

One of my older brothers played rugby for 8 years, and taught me how to play when I was 12. It's soooo much fun to play and watch, and it's also a great workout.

thought there is the sexual tension you mentioned...this thread is about the badassness of rugby...me and brittney have plenty of time together for our sexual needs.

chrome you are also right, though there is some kicking in the game, it is mostly a football-esque type game, which is like (american rugby.) it is more contact and rougher than british or aussie rugby. i guess us americans like to get dirtier.

chrome your also right on the other part...but how you film it is up to you, and you must have brittneys consent.

You must play back... I was a wing forward (Scrummies rule!!) Just be carefull, it was the rugby culture that got me done for in school.. Something about drinking and going to 8:00 classes way plastered... Not good.

i still have residual problems from when i broke my leg badly sophmore year so im not the fastest, so im playing 8 man as a forward....and i fill in as prop when someone needs to go out.

basically, im not fast enough to play back with my leg the way it is.

one of the reasons im glad i picked up weightlifting...id rather not play prop though, 8man is the coolest position i think

My cousin is going to college in New Zealand basically to play Rugby. I watched him play once here and it was crazy. Looked like a lot of fun.
