Intraeb on my computer

So I got my drivers for my old PC and my router is working correctly (thanks pbf), but I have one more problem. I have a Cat-5e patch cable ran to my room for X-Box Live, and I thought about getting my computer online. Problem is, it doesn't have an ethernet port on the back? Anything I can to to get the intraweb in my room?

Do you have a phone jack? There are adapters to get broadband connections from those.

hell if your computer doesnt have an ethernet jack you really need a new one

We have a new computer. This is an HP Pavilion, and it's about 6 yrs old. It didn't cost me anything so I'm not complaining.

Less than $10 shipped. I recommend having a friend install it though, because you're obviously shooting in the dark.

1. Go to best buy
2. Buy an ethernet 10/100 PCI adapter
3. Have Best buy install it for you.
4.
5. profit.

yeah you can go to staples, best buy, anywhere and get an ethernet card for near nothing. heck sometimes tiger direct has them free after mail in, well staples does too... orr you could go to your local computer store/repair place and try and bum one from an old pos system that they're trashing.

Putting it in shouldn't pose too big of a problem. I've already put a burner in it and added more memory. It shouldn't be a big deal to put it in. Thanks guys.

yeah you can put it in though. if you have upgradedyour mem you'll be fine. just plugs into the pci slot(generally white in color) and then put in the retaining screw and booter up. then of course install the drivers...

Worst idea ever. Don't ever let Best Buy touch a computer. Biggest rip-off store ever to exist.
