One lost, one sad guy
Well, as some of you know i'm on the wrestling team at my school and I was 10-0 as of today afternoon. Well, we drive up to Karrer middle school for a match today. Only about 5 people on our team won, the team score was 60-18. I had a tough fight into overtime, the score was 5-5 and this dude was short, and fat weighing at 142 lbs.
I couldn't pick him up, I couldn't get him down. He was short so every time I would try to take him down, his stomach would touch the ground with his hands and his heels would still be touching the ground. He pinned me at the last 20 secs of the match with a head and arm.
Right now i'm pissed, I was going for unbeatable and i've won a tourament last year. You could tell that he wasen't in shape too, after the first period he was breathing hard and heavy, I was all calm getting warmed up. It just really makes me mad that I worked and trained so hard, but I lost to a guy who's overweight and hasen't trained as hard as me.

That sucks, but remember you don't know for sure if he hasn't trained as much as you. He might just not be working on the abdominal muscles, just working on technique and stuff. Just look at that one American that won in sydney, he was not in very good shape at all. Heck in the last olympics he did he didn't even have all his toes because of a snowmobiling accident. So you just don't know. If it's any consolation, I'm a runner, and in high school there was this one invite that I had gone to and won fresh, soph, and junior year, then senior year I lost to not only one, but TWO people that never had even come close to me before. It sucked, and that year they decided to give out cool awards to first, go figure it was the one time I ever lost. Just put the past behind you and look forward to what you can accomplish though. Distance Running and wrestling are a lot similar if you think about it, endurance and guts and such.

that is pretty f'ed up. what weight class are you in? if you're in the same weight class i take it tht you're tall(er) and relatively skinny. don't let it get u down, it was a mismatch anyway.

who was it? and who was on the team mulkey or phillips? Whoever had to wrestle them is ****ed. I've been punched by mulkey and its not fun. It was just like a half hit and it was still like the hardest I've taken. That guy is a beast. He carried 4 girls at one time at a coffman game....

I weight 130 and I wrestle 142. I don't know the guy's name I wrestled, I know he was asian. Yes, i'm taller and more built up, not really skinny.

Accept that hes better than you. You wont go far in sports if you look at it from your current point of view. He beat you, no matter how hard you trained. You know what you gotta do, and what you gotta improve. Do it. Thats what sports is all about.

one of my friends is a serious wrestler at my high school...hes insane and so are his coaches...one day before a match he had to gain 5 pounds so he could fight some1 that would actually give him a challenge...this kid can gain weight like crazy and then loose it all the next day...one day before PE we all got weighed and then ran for 30 mins straight and got weighed again...i lost .3 pounds...yippee!...and he lost 4!

I'll keep that in mind dhill, thanks! I wasen't meaning to be racial or anything, I was just saying what background he was so Jacobeid might know him. Anyhow, there is a tourament in a week or so and he might be there. One thing i'm gunna work on is more weight lifting and more running. I'm planning on to start serious training aside from wrestling practice to get better.

You either need to put on weight to be closer to the top of your weight class or drop some to drop into a lower weight class... I dont' know what the weight classes are... but you will always be at a disadvantage againt a heavier opponent because he will have an advantage in leverage. I don't recommend doing any serious cutting because it can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing, but you gotta do something about your weight. He weighed almost 10% more than you. Would you race against someone that was 10% faster than you and expect to win?

Honestly have your fun now, because once your called up for Vars you wont worry about being undefeated so much as surviving practice.
BTW our 140 lber was kicked off for being out of shape...he sucked too.

Good point. The other guys i've wrestled were either studs so I would use my speed or they were built up so i'd just muscle them down. The studs weren't really that big...just some extra weight on them you could see so I was fine. I should eat more.....
