i actually did take the battery off and licked it to see if there was still power in it and it buzzed me. guess there wasnt enough left.

i got confused by the trigger programming too, the actual instructions for chaning settings are at the bottom. in the main menu (comes up when you hold down the trigger for 5 seconds) go to the number of blinks of whatever setting you want to change, hold down the trigger for 2 seconds to view the setting, then hold for 2 seconds again to change it. pull the trigger until you get to whatever number you want in that setting, hold for 2 seconds, turn off and then on and it will be in whatever mode you just told it to be in.

turn the marker on.
hold the trigger for 5 seconds. (enter programming mode)
hold the trigger for 2 seconds. (view swttings)
hold it for 2 more seconds. (opens the setting for programming)
pull the trigger 2 times (uncapped semi)
hold for 2 seconds (saves settings)
