Whoa that kind of sniping is not fun and it is stupid. I'm talking about offensive sniping, the art of flanking and shooting only when you have a good shot. If you haven't found out from experience, the longer the barrel, the quieter the gun and the more accurate it is.

The longer barrel may not give me better accuracy over a 14" but the porting releases the CO2 more evenly, and slower than a 14 inch would, thus making the gun quieter.
The scope I need because not only do I snipe, but I also scout, and I use the mil-dots on the scope to calculate ranges.
I'm not a designated marksman, I'm a sniper, full ghillie suit and whatnot, so I don't run and gun. I set up shot in a well concealed place, and wait for a good shot.
I've never heard of Sniping in Paintball.Because, simply,it really isn't that useful. Paintaballs dont travel far enough or fast enough to be used in a sniper
The thing is that I do actually stay at longer ranges than my team, so I do shoot at longer ranges.
The other thing is that range finding capabilities are part of any sniper's job. The whole reasoning behind them is to relay information back to my team mates about where opposing players may be bunkered, or may be patrolling. Then from there the squad can make a decision on where it is best to engage the other team from.
A lot of people say that sniping doesn't exist in paintball, but I think that the Scout/Sniper combination is essential to tactics. Another thing is that sniping isn't about getting a lot of hits. Sniping is providing good retreat cover, or pinning an enemy down from longer ranges so that your team mates can do the job of engaging them.
BTW, my gun is long, but I'm used to it, because I used to snipe in the dreaded sport know as **AIRSOFT**. So I'm used to dealing with longer weapons.
I agree with you in the fact that scouting out enemy locations could be usefull, but it seems to me like in a few select situations.
ex. you on top of hill leading team through a valley of patrolling players.
If I was you and it was just a very flat terrain I'd prob take off scope and just slowly flank them
8/10 ur gun looks cool, everything on it has a purpose (to you at least),
my only recommendation would be to play around with the internals and what not
I had a model 98 that i was thinking of painting but sold it b4 i got the chance.
I think that this is a really cool gun and you shouldnt listen to the haters.

All objects in ballistic flight (like bullets) "curve". that's why it's called a "ballistic flightpath". Any other uninformed nuggets of firearms info you care to share, or will you be getting a library card some time soon?

if you can show me a linear curve with a paintball that happens 90% of the time, like a bullet, I'll give you all my paintball gear without asking a question.
Paintballs are unpredictable and fly off at random ways without warning.
He's right though. I've watched many a shot do like in Wanted around peoples heads. I've also shot people that were behind bunkers still. Those are definitely NOT proper ballistics flightpaths. Neat to watch, though.
And you'd stop saying a site that claims rifling paintball barrels helps anything is "empirical data"......When you know that they think that, it kinda makes you not want to believe anything their site says.....
