they still make great quality barrels though; there's nothing wrong with them at all they're just misleading with what they say about them.
I'm quickly skimming this article and what I'm getting out of it is that it's nearly impossible to come up with a set chart of how a paintball will fly because of paint size, quality, weights, etc etc. You've dug yourself into your own grave on this one.
I'm not going to lie if I were rich and famous I'd be running people over with my car all the damn time.

8/10. It's obviously not a speedball gun. And speedballers get eaten in the woods with noisy hoppers and bright colors.
Oh yeah this happens all the time. It doesn't matter how good you are the shade of elm trees is like kryptonite to a speedball player. Within seconds years of practice, experience and drills is forgotten and they are at the mercy of those that wield milsim Tippmanns.
Yup. That's why the other week when we played and we convinced the ref to let us do a woodsball game speedballers vs. woodsballers it took a total of 2 minutes to end a 6 on 3 game with several of the 6 woodsballers never getting a shot off. Because we were so horribly thrown off by our standing out, and camo works just so well at those incredibly close ranges with no time to prepare...
ya i was playing with a rental 98 and was doing real good in the woods, then i picked up my dm6 and forgot how to play.......whats the "hopper" again?
camo doesnt help as much as some people make it out to, holding still is what really hides you

I own a Blazer it looks like a speedball gun but it's mech like a woodsball gun so I can't even remember how to play paintball at all anymore.

Hey how did you do your paintjob...You did an awesome job on the paint....any tips?
I basically just sprayed down a coat of Kyrlon Camo green, then took a stencil which I printed off the computer and cut it out of a light cardboard material. Then I took some Krylon Khaki, and brown and sprayed over the stencil with it. After that I used Krylon matte clear coat and gave everything a coat of that, and thats about it.
I like it. 8/10 for a 98. If you wanna be a sniper... be a sniper... if you wanna feel better about yourself.. bash the guy that started this post.. I don't get it..All he did was ask what you thought of his gun. Not if you like how he plays, like his shoelaces, or have noticed that his farts have no odor. Stop giving the guy a hard time... he did nothing to provoke all the e-thugging. I do have two things to say however.
1. barrel length does affect how a marker shoots... you can add up to 40 fps by using a longer barrel WITH CO2 ONLY. It has no effect with hpa's velocity.
2. you guys should really check out the first strike paintballs from tiberius. they do go a hell of a lot further than a standard paintball and break when they hit.

Sure he did! He posted something on the 'net, where you can say whatever you want, to whoever you want, without having to worry about how many sides of the same argument you've weighed in on over the years, or how much crap you may be spewing.
1) FPS is limited at regulated fields, which is the great equalizer, and
2) If Tiberius is selling them to the public now, I'd love to give them a try, but last I heard, Law Enforcement only.
another super-uber-noob-sniper. exactly what paintball needs.
I have noticed through out all of your posts none of them are either helpful or nice. instead of telling him he is a super uber noob sniper, tell him HOW to become a better player, if you know how.
Whoever says long barrels dont help is a retard, my friend (a sniper)is the best player on our team. He has a 20 inch barrel and he totally owns. Yes, he runs out of co2 faster but he has extra tanks. Now to all of you anti-Tippmann naysayers, they are the best guns for woodsball and scenario paintball. Sure it's not as fast as speedball, but you have WAY more fun. You guys say sniping doesnt work but thats because you all jump on the cliche bandwagon. Maybe, if you guys tried it, you would actually say something more sensible.
this reminds me of myself when i posted a review on my tippman marker, huh trbo? xD
lol ya, i get really amused at these threads just from all the ignorant statements
maybe we should compile them together
1) you can not use a speedball marker in the woods because you will loose, however, why you will loose is never explained
2) uber long barrels make for great distance and accuracy
3) scopes are the cats pajamas for a woodsball sniper
4) for some reason co2 and a longer barrel gives you an extra 40fps, but hpa on the setup has no effect
5) electronics in the woods break, even though many speedball fields are much more dirty and messed up than the woods corses
6) use any paint you want, a sniper setup will give you magic accuracy with the worst paint
any more?

A long barrel can up your velocity. If you chrono in with a short barrel and then switch to a longer one it gives more room for the CO2 to expand and the ball to accelerate so it bumps up your FPS . Now if you are playing at an actual field with rules than you should dial your marker back down under the chrono limit. HPA would have little effect because the tanks are regulated so you get the same output pressure. It should change it a bit because the ball would have a little more room to accelerate but nothing like you'd get with unregulated CO2. There is a point where the longer barrel begins to slow the ball back down but I'm not even going to attempt to tackle that one.
