Thumbs up Spyder TS Rocker

This is my Spyder TS with the rocking trig frame.
Basically stock except the drop forward with the on off screw which i think is really handy.
Bought about a year ago and it friggen rocks for being as cheap as it was.

Lemme know what you think.
Be nice.
I appreciate constructive criticism but not haters.

Chop chop chop. That's what you get with that trigger frame and no eyes or ACS system to control the load/shoot cycle. You best be getting a VERY fast hopper if you want to get any kind of performance for your investment.

Nice drop and asa, if you like drops. COnsider replacing the feedneck to get rid of the feed tube.

Overall, some work done to it, 3/10. You can do more to it though: feedneck, a regulator, etc.

I have a vertical feed neck that goes on with my spyder fasta. It chops every now and again but isnt horrible cuz i feed fast ENOUGH... But thanks for the advise. I'm getting a PMR so ill post that up here soon but i think that im gonna focus on that gun a little more than this but will deff take advise such as a new reg. What else might i consider?

great looking gun 7/10
just the only thing is you really cant use it for tournaments because of the rocking trigger. and its 2 contact point makes it illegal in tournaments
other then that u might want to get a clamping feed neck or something along the lines of that. great gun though.

3/10 its mostly stock, i do like the drop with the colored micro line, it was a nice touch. (may want to cut the micro line down a bit though)

as for whats next, a better hopper and if you dont have it already HPA (the pmr will need it anyway) clamping feedneck and a J&J ceramics barrel ($30) and it will make a decent backup marker.

i do think you will run into a problem with the pmr trigger though, since you have probably learned bad habits from this one it may be a hard switch, the rocking trigger is a horrid idea and spyder should have never come out with it (but thats my rating of it, you didnt put it on the marker so i didnt factor it into your rating above) idealy you should get a standard e-trigger for this marker (maybe you can find some new player to trade trigger frames with?) so switching back and forth from the PMR to the TS wont be so hard

lol i actually purchased this gun with the intention of putting the rocker on my fenix ACS. But the screw layout was different so i couldn't :-(
But i used the fenix which has a reg. e-grip so i think ill be ok with the transition to the pmr.
I'll get a pic of the fenix up here soon but i just moved and the barrel is at the old house.

P.S. It does use HPA.
P.P.S you dont like the fasta?

If the fasta isnt good what should i get? I have heard good but a lot of bad about halo's. I like the pulse but all seem to be about the same as the fasta but it was cheaper lol.

Fastas aren't bad. Many people hate on them. The funny thing is, those same people often go on to say what an amazing hopper the Pinokio is. Other than the fact that the Fasta doesn't have a removable nose, the Fasta 18V LED is very nearly identical to the Pinokio.

In summary, if you can find it at a good price, the Fasta 18V LED or LCD is great. I prefer the LED version since the LCD doesn't last as long on batteries and doesn't offer you anything better in terms of performance.

the fasta isnt as fast as you would want a hopper to be for the PMR (ironic i know) my honest opinion and the reason i bought one, is go get a empire reloader, it is 99% the same exact hopper as a halo (exact as in every part is the same) that 1% difference though is the board, where the halo uses eyes to see the paint, the empire uses ears to hear your marker fire, while this may not seem like a huge difference, if paint breaks in a halo, it will come down the raceway, cover the eye and the hopper will go blind and stop feeding, the empire on the other hand, if paint breaks in it, it will just keep going as if nothing happened (this feature has saved me in a few games) but used ones can be had for around $50, and new ones for $90 or so

the good thing about going with a halo or empire reloader is you can get replacement parts at pretty much every shop, i have yet to find one that carrys anything for a fasta

miller-what the heck is the pinokio? iv never heard of it. link?

Pinokio:

You'd be surprised. Fasta 18V can feed 25. Consistent 18-20. Pinokio can do 20-23 consistent, 30 tops. And they'll never jam since they're not FULL force feed.

For the Pinokio, that 400 round nose is great if you're a backman. When it's bad weather, throw that on, and I'll play back. Fill it, and NOONE gets the snake.

yes but thats the problem, they are not a true force feeder, i dont care what bps a agitator claims, its still an agitator and relys on gravity, a force feeder will be activly pushing the ball into the breach

and now that you put pictures up i do remember it, gosh it looks funny

They do force, they just don't maintain pressure on the stack, they're much more than agitated. I have had several of my markers as fast as they'll go, they can't outshoot a Fasta or Pinokio. If you're shooting, it is VERY actively pushing paint into the breach. And the system it relies on I consider more reliable than eyes or sound activation.

Pulse is bad simply because they're no longer made or supported. Evo3 is...an ok hopper. The design of the mough is bad, they're backheavy, and they're no faster than an EyeForce that would be about the same price, or the Fasta which could probably be found about the same price also but holds a few more.
