Well at least now I know who the anal retentive person is on this forum, if you read the writing you would know that RL pic was a small joke, hence my ugly mug comment, but alas I guess I am a loser.
Pr0ph3t yes I am really a Ranger 11B PV 30; (class 2/03), no longer active duty, though the army has had a tendency to call us back up. Also, great call on the 74, most people just call it a 47, it is an AKS-74 (folding butt stock makes it a S varient used by north korean special operation troops) which in the pic is what I was training American forces on, NK weapons and tactics.
Spyderguy, let me think about giving you the DM4, you almost have me convinced
Brian a moderator here at these forums invited me to join up, I liked what I have read for the most part so just saying hi, and hope to stick around.

If you are serious about becoming a Ranger then Paintball remix hit it right on the head, dont get mad about spilling your milk, realize that next time you can do it better and either, not spill the milk, or b have the cow with you so you have an extra supply.
Becoming tabbed is not easy, out of my class of 131, 36 graduated. If you are mentally able to make it to the end, then the toughest part of all comes, your fellow Ranger Candidates rate each other, and if they dont like you, then you are out. If the RI's dont feel you were a team player then you are out. You have the option to recycle but that is a very long time to redo all that training. One meal a day for the entire time, you have 15 minutes to eat, period. Get caught at any other time and you are out or recycled.
That one meal is an MRE so dont worry about spilling milk, you will not get any. Get ready for 1-2 hours of sleep per night, except if you have a jump the next morning where you will, by law, get 4 hours of sleep. Also unlike the days before I joined, if you dont have wings, you will not go to Ranger School period.
Be physically fit but you need to be even more mentally, because your body WILL fail you, but you need to have the mind power to tell your body that you can keep going. If you dont then bye.

I want to be a ranger as well, but the MOS I want to go with is for higher level I believe. (18Bravo[special operations weapons sergeant, hence why I knew your gun was a 74]) I'd be really interested in what you have t say about the whole military deal, I'll have to PM you sometime.
SO THIS ISN'T USELESS 10/10 FOR ALL.

Once a year every post has a visit from Delta recruiters, Delta is just that Delta detachment of a special forces group, of course Delta does not officially exisist either.
As for being 11X, I hate to say it but you are in a tough spot, most 11X get put in as Mech infantry (11M) or Mortars (11C) however you still have options on re-enlistment and if you really show your stuff then you can get the schools needed to move on. Keep in mind just to make it to SFAS you have to be part of the top 5% in the army, saying you want to be an 18 series means ****. Keep in shape and be able to run 20 miles with an 80 pound ruck and at the end be barely breathing hard. If you can get Ranger school then be assigned to a Ranger Batt (a Real ranger is at batt) then you will have no problems moving on to SFAS, you are at the top of your game there.
If you find you wont be getting Airborne school or a shot at SFAS then go to a delta briefing when they show up to your post and sign up for the PT test which by the way is done immidiately after the briefing, in your BDU's. That will put you on the road should you pass the Delta test with in their specifications. I will tell you this, I took it and it is hard, I passed and it was with major work all this and I was in the best shape of my life keep that in mind. Good luck.

Id like to talk more to you if possible.
Recruiters are crap and I understand that but I know the guy who is recruiting me and hes always been nice. I am told that I can get a generous (civilian generous not airforce generous) sign on bonus for join sf right away. I understand that that puts me into airborne but other than that even my uncle doesn't seem to give much for pressent info he was in from late nam to dstorm 1
Let me know what you can tell me...perhapes write a book to me in private messaging...please.
