These instructions are by me with help and input from DuoDSG... ENJOY!

As my (brockocoli's) dad works for sherman williams...he helped me some with this too...

Pre-Planning
For any mask You will need the following...

1 roll blue painters tape
Krylon Paint or Rust-o-leum
Newspaper
Flat space

Put newspaper on a flat space like a driveway or sidewalk. Put rocks or other heavy material on the corners of the paper so it doesn't fly up.

Setting up the area
1. Take mask apart:
On my proflex, i take the lens out, the flex part from the goggle frame and the strap...for the strap just pull it out with force.

2. Put blue painters tape on EVERY area you don't want to be sprayed.
I mean EVERY part...cover it. Even the back. To tape the foam parts on a flex just tape on the top where the holes are and go to the bottom.

The process
3. Shake the can real well

4. Add 1 coat of krylon or rustoleum
The most important part about this is DONT GET TOO CLOSE!!! You should stay about 10 inches away with the can at all times. Spread even, thin coats all over the frame, even if it doesn't seem like its doing much...if you stay on one area for too long, you'll end up globbing it and making bubbles.

5. Wait an hour
Dont touch it for 40m-1 hr in the sun

6. Add another coat
Same directions as before

The Hard Part...Waiting
7. Wait an hour or so then take inside

8. Let mask sit overnight
Don't handle the mask too much or you'll risk messing it up. Spray paint drys from the top layer down so it may still be gooey underneath.

9. Put back together.
For a proflex, its hard to get the lens in without scratching the paint, but just be gentle.

Just remember, if you mess up, you can always just scrape it off and start again...but you'll have to be careful...also remember, STEADY HAND...STAY FAR AWAY WITH THE CAN.

Viola...my proflex used to be normal...then i painted it white

lol. yeah the pink part doesn't really go with the straps although im going to be putting a cheetah strap in there soon.

You should paint your flex Dark Green and Matte Black.

pic of my painted flex. Used pretty much the same directions, and came out with a nice looking paintjob. I realized after countless mistakes, the less layers, the better off you are. The more layers i added the more it seemed to chip. So then i re did it and did 2 layers and it came out perfect and still is, even after mask shots.

perfecto^ except for the bit of blue on the bottom of the flex part

im repainting my flex (again), so ill have the bottom part (pink currently) into white and the top will be what it is currently (dust black)

i said i was gonna paint the bottom white...i wanted to experiment...i agree it looks gay but im going to do the bottom white.
