So I got blind...
... when I was 2 years old, and just on one eye. I still REALLY wanna go into paintball, and so I got a Dye Invision I3 because the "pros" told me that was the best eyeprotection I could get. Still - Im always searching for something better. Needless to say - when it comes to my eyes - I'm pretty paranoid about something happening. Do you have ideas and/or recommondations as to how I can improve eye-protection?

actually the dye invision is probablly on the lower end of safet among all the masks out there. those little tabs that hold it in take alot of stress when you change the lense (this one guy at my field once had to get the help of 5 people, taking a total of about 45 minutes to change the lense on his invision) and that could cause the rest of the lense to break. i'd take a profiler or something like that which doesnt put so much stress on the lense, they look better and are easier to deal with anyway.
but dont take it too out of context, regardless of these little things, ALL paintball masks are tested and should be 99.99999954698475987% safe for your use.

i like my pro flex. so that may work fine for you. though, i'd have to say the best mask you can buy right now would be a pair of vents

First off I would like to say that I am very touched by your courage to go out and play with only one eye. Now I would say that most mask will fit your need but if you want the best I think the Proto masks and Invisions are good masks if you are looking for like a wider mask covering a little more of the neck area. Then if you are too worryed about that there is the Proflexs and the Vents that I believe were mentioned. All masks are tested at above the FPS that a paintball should be shot so you will be alright, but if you read thought some masks manuals they recommend changing the lense after every direct hit. Personally I know no one that does that but it may be somthing you would be interested in looking in to.

There are certain ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards that masks are tested to.
No one mask is more safe then another, as long as you follow the directions.
Buy a mask for comfort, not for safety. They're all the same. Some offer more coverage then others, but as logn as you're properly wearing your mask, adn the lens is inspected of major blemishes and kept in good condition, your eyes are 99.9997% safe.
I'm a ref... When your on the field... Keep your ****ing mask on! Dont lift it to wash it, dont adjust it, just leave it on for gods sake! You want to keep your one good eye. Keep your damn mask on. Even after the games over, even after your hit, even if you get shot 50 times in the nuts, even if you have to throw up.
That being said:
Buy a Vforce Profiler.

Profiler is your best bet.
Whichever eye is your good one, play that all the time. Don't shoot left if you're blind in your left eye, cross it up, keep a lane out and watch the other side when you can.
That's cool how you're still wanting to play while being blind in one eye, good for you man.

Hey guys, and thank you so much for your answers! I haven't had the chance to play paintball very much here yet - but there is a new indoor field opening up soon. We have had pretty damn ****ty weather - which kinda kills the spirit for outdoor playing.
I know the importance of keeping the mask on, trust me I work for a pb retailer, so I'll hopefully have the chance to try out some diffrent mask.
Again, thanks for your kind answers! I will keep you posted
