Mask's smudges are so bad i cant see through

with the warm weather coming close, me an my friends decided to play in 2 weeks. I got out all my gear an seen im ready to go but my mask had like year old paint an all smudgey looking so i tried glasses cleaner didn't help much. Then i got an idea carborator clean cleans evyerthing, but it left huge smudges that are like looking into a dirty mirror an i cant get them off, ive tried pledge an stuff, Any ideas on what i should do to get them off, i really dont got the money to go buy a new mask right now.

Sorry, you killed it. Once a lens has been treated with any of those chemicals, I would no longer trust its structural integrity to protect my face.

This is bad news. You shouldn't use anything other than water or maybe a very weak soapy water solution on your lens. Carb cleaner is rather caustic and it's possible you've caused chemical burns on the plastic. As Riddler put it, the lens is dead. Time to replace.

doesn't matter what you do with it; the lens is no longer safe for play and needs replaced.

You can get new lenses for most masks in the $15-$30 range.

Nobody is going to stop you from trying. You should shoot it afterwards and see if the lens cracks, and if it doesn't hit it with a hammer... for science...

Dunno, destroying the lens in the process of cleaning it seems counter intuitive so I guess most people wouldn't know if it works.

if it was causing enough problems in the first place to constantly need cleaning, i think its time to look into a new mask, perhaps one with a thermal lens that will not fog up on you?

get a new lens or mask. losing your vision is not worth the 30-80 bucks you save by being a tight-wad

Bleach will most likely cause permanant fog and if there is any residue from the other chemicals left on the lens, you could be looking at potentially lethal conciquences. Not joking. You don't want to mix bleach with other chemicals.

I would have to agree with everyone else

If there's one piece of equipment that you should splurge on, it should be your mask
It is protecting your eyes, and you only have one set. I'd rather be short on cash than blind for the rest of my life

why did you even bother with the bleach? the lens was already compromised so its not like you were going to fix it with MORE chemicals
