I was wondering how much a mask can take. or how much Fps it will take before it breaks or something like that.

well your marker shouldn't be over 300 fps which is 204 miles per hour your goggles are made to withstand 300 FPS

trust me, paintball masks are designed to withstand much more than 300fps. No company in their right mind would release a mask that was only just barely strong enough.. cause eventually one will break and thats a major MAJOR lawsuit. No, im sure they design them to withstand a paintball at 600+ FPS (100% safety margain).

they wont take a bullet though, thats for sure.

dude i bought some of that at k-mart when i was desperate and my proshop was closed and that crap wouldnt break an egg most of it just busted goin through my barrel or in my hopper from the little thing in tha halo that pushes the balls down.

but for the guy who made this thread i dont think your mask will break unless you go into a tourny and get hit by about 12 balls in tha same spot in about a half a second. (that happened to my friend who was wearin a flex7) It didnt really do anything to him except for put a crack down the middle of the mask though. Im not sure what kind of paint it was that did it. Hope that helped.

Uhh i dont think the type of paint matters that much but i dont think he got shot 12 times in the same spot unless the guy walked the trigger from 2 feet away with out him moveing lol but anyway your gun probably doesnt like blue streak paintballs...

lenses are designed to withstand a pointblank shot at 400fps minimum. most will withstand alot more than that.

I heard somewhere a long time ago that you should replace the lens if it gets shot from 300fps. from 20ft. or less away. Even if it doesn't appear damaged.

i got hit in my invision like 7 times in the goggles last night in diffrernt games at 260fps, would that matter? do i need to change them?

yea they can take alot got my old crappy one time and we shot the crap outa it and it didnt bust or anything.

good idea. buy some $hit pair of goggles that u KNOW are worse than your regualar pair, put them on the ground, then be like 5 ft away and turn up to WAY over 300 fps, then just shoot. see if it breaks for yourself. u will prolly feel safer unless it breaks on the first couple shots. then tell yourself it is OVER 300 fps, and the goggs were cr@p so mine could take more . . . . . right? . .

In the manual it says to change them every time you get a direct hit. IF you got hit 7 times within a few hours, I WOULD get a new lens.. But thats just me,a dn I think that statement in the manual is just a liability thing.

when comanys make masks and test then they test them much higher than a normal paintball would be to make sure its safe, like air tanks, when they test the 4500 tanks they fill them the 7000psi. and for ur mask just change it when the lense breaks, lol.

most lenses will SAFELY withstand maybe 25 hits before they should be replaced. After that, the lense will get unsafe and may shatter. Replace your lenses every 3 months to keep'em safe. Don't screw around when it comes to your eyes.

ive heard, emphasis on -heard- That JT and companies test their goggle lenses at like 400 fps w/ steel ball bearings and such, to make sure they are tough, cant find any links, but thats what ive heard.

Ummm...Was the paint frozen maybe? Because Blue streak sucks the yhave like the worst paint, maybe they were frozen and shot at over 300 fps...That or it is a rumour...
