Jersey reccomendations for around $50?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a jersey to ask for for christmas. I'm 16 and around 150 pounds, I'm 6 feet tall, so pretty skinny. If anyone can link me a jersey that they think would fit me that is around $50 (+or- $15) that would be really nice

Thank you in advance

Youth won't fit you lol, a jersey off the rack is what it is, get one with padding or without, most will wear the same, just get the colora and patterns you like. I've only worn custom jerseys forever now, and you can pick up semi custom off the rack from raza, i2i, animal etc...don't get an animal jersey, they suck lol

For some brands yeah, I wear a 2XL most jerseys and 1XL or 3XL in some, just gotta go try it on or find a friend with a jersey to try on. Some great prices on ANS right now!

If you don't have a solid pair of pants yet, skip the jersey and get the pants. I've found a good pair of paintball pants to be completely invaluable - and have only found a jersey to be a nice accessory.

To explain this-

Generic jerseys, at "quality" or tournament level are likely to run you between $65 and $100.

Last year's models (or older than last year) are discounted to liquidate the stock on the vendor's shelves.

Since Medium/Large...and to an extent - XL are common sizes, those are the first to go and seem to usually be liquidated within the model-year.

So - applying that.

2012 jerseys were..say..65 dollars. They are at the end of the model year, and production stopped...say...September. Medium/Large/XL are sold out. Since the vendor paid for product and are unable to return it - they'll reduce the price annually...getting closer and closer to cost...until the jersey sells.

Being that my Dye jersey from last season was an L/XL - and ran me $80...if I find an XL/XXL on sale for $55-65, sure I'll pick it up.

But - finding something in a L/XL..in the colors I want..is going to be harder than finding a Beatles album in a bargain bin. Stuff like that just doesn't happen too often.

TL;DR - Going price for jerseys is 65-100. If you're looking at old model/discounted jerseys - odds are the common sizes will no longer be available.

As far as good/bad goes -

A lot of it is going to be based on preference/opinions.
Are you wearing pads beneath the jersey? Are you intending to wear pads at all? Do you have an office job or job where showing your forearms/shins matters? What about your neck/collarbone?

Some people like me...like wearing full padding.

I work a 9-5, and have to be presentable at work. Dye does an excellent job padding out their pants, but leaves their tops to be little more than ballistic nylon and mesh. While they're some of the most durable pants I've ever owned, the jerseys in current model year leave a bit to be desired. I much prefer the 2011 design with the poofy padded sleeves. They're also very well ventilated. Problem is, I live in a radically changing climate with up to 100 degree temp swings over the course of the year. I need something warmer for the cold months.

Planet Eclipse makes a very well constructed jersey, open cell foam padded throughout - but it's HOT. In summer - wearing this has caused me to overheat, but in 20 degree temps, with a base layer - it was very comfortable. I can't comment on the pants, though they look to be well constructed too...but I have no first-hand experience.

Empire top line stuff looks to wear very well. Their mid looks to last a season, and their budget line... well... I'll tell you to go get a nice pair of BDU's and save your money for next year.

Valken - I've only 2nd hand seen and asked about their budget and mid lines. The budget looks like Adidas track pants, and the mid didn't feel well constructed. Martix has mentioned that Valken's top line is tournament grade and will last a few seasons.

Outside that - looking at the ANS web site - Angel went out of business, BT is a division of Empire, HK Army...well.. I have an issue with their brand image and can't put money in their direction. Invert is a sub brand of Empire. I think JT were too - and the jerseys listed were from 2006 (but for $14...not bad to throw money at if you need to get over that last little hump to get free shipping). PE was discussed, Sly is owned by Valken...Valken was discussed.

Yeah - soooo... go into a paintball shop. Touch things. Try them on. Whether you want padding, and the quantity of it, and where is largely up to you...and how much you spend, seems to be metric for the duration of durability - but isn't a steadfast rule.

TL;DR - This is something you'll have to put money into to figure out preferences. There aren't very many brands left, as they've all been eaten or scooped up by bigger brands. Largely - jerseys offer...not much? Buy pants.

Dye stuff tends to wear very well. The shoulders look padded, though the forearms, biceps, chest, and stomach look to have none.

If this is okay - go for it.

My suggestion will remain that you invest it into a pair of pants, or another case of paint. If anything, a jersey makes you more of a target, and turns off newer players. While your ability level is unknown to me - it never hurts to have additional cash for a case of paint.

i am 6'1" 155lbs i wear a medium in newer proto/dye and smart parts jerseys but a large in older jt a dye jerseys.
i gotta say that jt made some of my favorite jerseys ever. i am not a big fan of alot of padding i just tend to where what the weather says i should, in the summer a jt jersey or a old white t-shirt, in the winter a under aurmour and a jersey unless its really cold. i always where my pants though idc if its 100 degrees i will still where my paintball pants.
diablo used to make some really god looking jerseys, along with draxxus, smart parts made some nice pants, and my favorite jersey for all around wear has to be a 08-09 proto jersey
