unimounts are good looking, have an On/off and go right ont eh bottom of your frame.
Dorps are lal preference. I dont like drops myself. A drop makes your gun shorter, but it also increases the height at teh same time.
So basicly, a uni is an asa.

Now... what about rails. If i order a rail will it come with all the screws i need? Caus the rail screws into the gun.. then the on/off or whatever slides onto the rail. Thus, how does the thingy stay secured. I have a CP flame drop with a CP on/off ASA on it. Can i use that CP asa thingy with a rail?

If the cp on/off doesn't screw directly onto the drop, but you slide it on and then screw it on, You can definately use it with a rail.
Me personally, I have a uni-mount and I love it. If you already have the cp on/off, don't worry about getting a unimount, they're pretty much the same for performance.

i didnt want to start a new thread on this, and i was patient enough to search for this, so please dont call me a grave digger.
so, whats the difference between a unimount and an on/off asa? and what exactly is better about having a unimount over a regular asa? ive heard the unimount called the "anti-drop forwards" also, why is this?

a uni is an on/off asa
and there is basicly 2 groups of paintballers when talking about ASA's
those that have accepted that unimounts and rails and such are the best way to set up most guns
and then the people who are too stubborn and use a drop that makes them innacurate shooters, have big tall gun, and look like noobs.
I say the only time a drop should be used is if your like a 10 year old kid and cant sholder a gun with a uni

so if i got an on/off asa it would be exactly the same as a unimount? the unimount doesnt really do anything special? and i dont plan on getting a drop forwards, i just wanted to know why they call unimounts the anti drop forward.

Uni-mounts are basically a one piece on/off and rail combo. Why do many people like Uni-mounts over on/offs and rails? The Uni-Mounts are roughly half the price. However, I did hear that installing the Uni-Mount was hard.

sorry if i seem unable to grasp this, but why would you have an on/off asa slide into a rail that is screwed onto your gun? was some paintbll company just bored one day and decided to make mounting your asa onto your grip harder? why not just get a regular on/off asa? the only unimount i have seen was $50, and most on off asa's are around $30. help me find a unimount for $15...

Yes, you can find a on/off for $30, but then you still need a rail. I've seen Uni-Mounts go for $40, and I am sure if you were to shop you could find them much lower.

all on/offs require a rail? i thought you could mount one on your grip like a regular asa. for example, just as an example, look at an 05 spyder imagine. it has an asa directly on the grip with no drop forwards. you cant mount an on/off asa just like the regular asa on an imagine?

Gun with drop:
Pros:Let's you closer to gun
Cons:Makes gun taller, less ergonomicly correct.
Pics:
Gun with Unimount
Pros:More ergonomicly correct, gun has a much smaller profile, helps with balancing.

All asa's require rails, a unimount is just an asa that usually comes with the rail already on it, like pictured in the second picture.A drop is just a rail that drops forward, hence the name drop forward.

Actually I find drops much more useful for mechs aka mech cockers, while non drops extremely needed to give the best shooting posture for any non mech gun. Mainly because with a drop and a mech cocker it gives me a better position to fan it with my middle finger while a non drop on a electro\electric gives allows only the tip of my fingers to touch the trigger and hence better walking of the trig. Thats just my 2cents
But anyways here's the kind of posture you get with a large drop forward compared to non drop (too lazy to screw a asa on the bko so i just held it w\ it's invert drop. (We did this to my friend's gun because the drop gave bad posture (he got a cp on off w/ his bko). Notice how my hand grips the frame as i hold the marker against my shoulder. (btw this compares the forward part of a drop forward and not 'drop'ing part itself.)

Those are called duckbills. They are not on/offs, but rather plastic ASA's that I hear do not pass the test of time.
CP came out with a new direct on/off, but it as $50. Basically the same thing as a Uni-Mount, but for more.

Duckbills aren't plastic.
