hey guy i am new to this forum and paintball. I have bout $300 to spend. What should i get. I will probably be doing speedball more than woodsball but i will play woodsball ocassionaly. I dont now which gun i should get like the tippman 98c for a semi auto ro should i jump right into a automatic seeing that that would save me money from buying a semi than buying a automatic. I am sure i will be playing paintball.Thanks

automatics aren't tourney legal, and not even feild legal. so their really isn't a point in buying anything with fullauto

so do you have 300 on JUST the gun, or tank and hopper too!?

if its just the gun, look for a used cocker or the new SP ION

You are confused.

I bet you are thinking Mechanical vs. Electro.

A bunch of Electros of full auto modes, but the only legal ones are the semi modes.
Mechanicals are all semi-auto.


So its not like 1000 dollar guns aren't allowed to be used. Just some of their modes.

For you, I would suggest a Tippmann 98c with a nice barrel, hopper, and tank.

a mag and a cheap 45ci nitro tank. should ring in about 200$. spend the rest on a cheap revy and maybe a barrel

You must be operating your gun on semi-automatic mode (if it has different modes) to play at any proper field or tournament. If you are playing woodsball with some friends, there's nothing stopping you from using full-auto.

If you want to play more speedball, you should look at the Smart Parts ION- you will really love it. It's about $285, but it will be worth waiting for the money for a tank and mask...

i would say go w/ a tippman A5, and just a cheap hopper and tank, then save up enough money and buy some upgrades for it

I am pretty sure that he has no idea what any of that means. He probably would not even know what an Automage is, let alone a "mag" and a "revy"

True, I hate when people talk to someone who professes that they are a total newbie to paintball like they know all our slang/jargon. However, it does happen, and the good newbies that become respected players are the ones who search out the definitions of these words that they do not understand. They will look at what the word is and then, in this case, study the specifics of the gun indicated, ie: Automag.

^^ Yup. Your better off with a Revvy ( ViewLoader 12v Revolution W/ X-Board), not a Reloader B...

i think he meant reloader II... there is a difference. and reloader b's cost $145, not $45

Tippman 98c with response trigger, a Richochet apache hopper, 20oz co2, and the pods and such. How does that sound?

Well, he said "Reloader B"... lol. Well, yeah there is a difference. The RELOADER II is sound activated if I believe and the Revvy is just...a revvy. lol Other than that, theyre the same.

the revvy's have an eye sensor, but it is too close to the bottom of the hopper, which basically means that you have about two shots before the eye senses nothing in the feedneck and starts feeding, which can lead to quite a few chops if you shoot fast. i would get an empire reloader II.

both are better unless you were talking about the ricochet apache. but the reloader b will be too expensive and complex for a noob so i would get the reloader 2 untill you get good enough that you need an ultra-fast loading system.

Since he is a newb I wouldn't reccomend an autococker. A lot of people say they are complicated. I would reccomend a tippmann or kingman or pirahna.
