You get good, get sponsored, get in big leagues, and be the best.

They make money through paintball by either buying paintball equipment, markers, or anything else, and hoping to sell for a higher price. People also get paid to play by being on a team that is sponsored. Don't expect it to be cash in your pocket sort of paying, it is more that your sponsors give you discounts, unless you play big events and such. Also, sometimes at tournaments they will have cash prizes.
Their is nothing for you to join, except for a team and hope to get sponsored. But to get sponsored you need to do good in numerous tournaments, don't expect companies to through a sponsorship at you.

Only a few Pro-teams are paid(dynasty being one of them) and I believe they only make what, around 50 grand/yer? Most teams just play b/c of their passion for the sport

Yeah, but look at why they're paid. That is so that they can devote every inkling of life to training, practicing, perfecting. But when it comes to tourney time, like Brett Favre said, "If you can't play for free (on sunday) you're in the sport for the wrong reasons."
Sure it may look fun from the outside, but that's alot of work, and only the most dedicated survive it. Don't just look at numbers, look at the whole picture.
