my problem
I have been playing for about three months now and I have a problem with running from bunker to bunker when playing speedball. I dont know what the problem is i'm fine when running off the break, but when it comes to running from bunker to bunker i just freeze up and dont want to move. I dont know maybe i am just a whimp. If anyone else had this problem please tell me how to fix it.

I think its more important to find out WHY you don't wanna move.
Are you afraid of getting hit?
Do you think you'll get out?
Are you lazy?
Do you not feel like moving?

when you wana make a move just dont think about it go the sooner you go the easyer it will be, the longer you wait will make it harder to go and then you will get stuck there because the other team will be moving and you will get f'ed in the ass.

^^That would help alot to know. If your afraid just remember that paintballs don't hurt for more than a few seconds if at all.

Communicate with your teamates that you are going to make a move (WITHOUT letting the other team know) and have one or more of them lay paint on the opposing players to keep them down while you make your move. If you are just exchanging fire with one opponent and your teammates have the rest of the team occupied then
rip off a dozen shots or more at the top of their bunker/over their head and immedietly run. By the time they come back up you should nearly be behind your bunker. This is harder to pull off against more experienced players, as they have the experience/lack of fear to know that you are about to move and will snap up to shoot as soon as your fire stops. Run fast and stay low, as low as you can tuck without slowing down. Also work on your sliding so that you don't have to slow up when you make it to your bunker. If its a fear thing then just remember that its better to get eliminated making a move up the field than cowering in your bunker at the back line.

this is one of those things youll have to get used to. ill tell you when it will finaly stop being an issue. the first time you force yourself to do it and get lit up. thats when its gonna click in yor head" hey this doesnt hurt that bad, why are we hiding all the time". everyone hides at first, you just gotta start forcing yourself to do it. even if it means getting eliminated more often, make yourself move so you can learn to do it the right way. wait till you catch it right in the weebles the first time. after that you wont think getting shot anywere else hurts much

You guys & girls are telling him how to run,and when. He needs help actually doing it, my suggestion is, have one new player shoot at your team, and when he's distracted just run, and shoot him, and you'll be so happy you ran, AND got someone out you'll keep doing it(or trying to do it)

The backwards man...

for some reason, kneeling down for more than a minute seems to put alot of stress on the connective stuff in my knees, and it makes it hard to stand up and run. ive found if a lay down behind the bunker and stretch my legs out first its easier, but most bunkers arent big enough to lay down behind without getting shot in your feet. it also doesnt help that im really tall...
ive been trying to play front for months, but i found out recently that i am one hell of a back player. the snap shooting, walking the trigger, aiming, communicating, reloading... ive never really played back, but it all comes natural to me. it also helps that most bunkers in the back of the field are tall so you can stand up behind them, and near the end of the game when its time to move up, your legs arent stiff and stuck in one place, so its that much easier to move up when its safe to do so. maybe you should try playing back

sounds like you worry to much about being eliminated . dont worry man, its going to happen alot. push hard and learn, dont worry about getting eliminated. your team may gripe and moan, but when its just rec play, it doesnt matter. concentrate on learning to be aggressive and dont worry about getting knocked out. theres always another day and another game.most of all have fun. if you get shot, have a good laugh about it. rag on the other team for "only hitting you one time" cause your not that fast.
ill tell you what man, your not a bad size for this game. I'm 6'2" and about 270. if i can play a mid/front position and still move fast enough to not get it, you dont have jack to worry about

its harder to hit someone when their running compared to when they sit in their bunker. Just RUN CRAZY yet controlled and make sure you take a peek at whos looking at what before you go off sprinting
