New To The Forum....Question....
Hey guys- Nice place you got here. Just recently got into paintball and I had a question that yall should know.
I just bought a Spyder Xtra- (Wanted a Tipmann but to many people had them, figured I'd give something else a shot) anyway-
I want to know if you can mount a Red Dot Scope onto the Spyder?
IF there is any ways you can think of or have done - PLEASE let me KNOW!
Thanks guys!!!
Latez-

Where do I find the site rail?
DO you know what a red dot scope is?
Is a quick sighting system. You just aim- and pull the trigger.
It's not a magnifying scope at all.
So where do I find a site rail for my Spyder Extra?

nice choice in a marker, xtras are very nice guns.
paintballs travel so unpredictably that scopes and sights are ineffective and in some cases a disadvantage.
however if you still want one you can easily buy one on the internet...im assuming that the xtra has a site rail? youd have to get a sight that goes to the side since the feedneck goes through the center of the gun.

Yeah, Thats one frustrating thing about spyders is the feeder goes through the center.
Where can I find a sight that goes to the side?
I feel like a moron asking this- but I play a lot of speedball, and aiming is pretty important. I like to sneak up on guys positions and since I can't tell if my barrel out front of the feeder is lifted to horizontal or not, it would be nice to have a sight.
Therefore, can anybody help me out with my current situation?

well paintballs can travel pretty dart like if you have the right paint to barrel match and great consistanty but likely your on co2 and not too sure about the paint barrel match on that xtra's stock barrel. But if you want a sights you can check out http://www.pbreview.com/products/cat/26/ for the names of some of the more common sights used in paintball,,, if ever.
Er edit:
Since you play speedball it's best to just get use to shooting speedball style which is looking at your target from the end of your barrel\while comparing it to where it is hitting rather than straight down the center of your gun.

yea theres no such thing as a sight on the side of your gun {i think?}. Besides if your playing speedball then your not going to be aiming. Its SPEEDball, meaning that you want the speed and not waste time trying to aim. If you really want to get a scope you could retro fit it but it would look horrible.
Try playing woodsball if you like sneeking up on people and aiming.

Once you start to play more, you will realize that a scope is not needed and as PaintballBob said, it will be a disadvantage. It will be just more area on your gun that is vulnerable to being hit.
You'll soon see that by shouldering your tank and aiming down your barrel, you can hit most targets in 1-2 shots.

a reason i like stacked tube blowbacks; look down the side of the gun, its as much of a site as u will ever need.

if you're playing speedball, you wont have time to aim using a scope. not only that, a paintball doesn't shoot straight as a bullet. Just learn to look down your barrel and you'll smoke everyone else who lines up a shot using their scope.

exactly. You have to play fast in SPEEDball. You don't have time to aim your scope, plus it probably won't do you any good unless you have a really good paint to barrel match so your gun is pretty consistant. Then when you see where the paint is normally going in relation to your scope. Then you can kind of aim towards the left, right, up, down, etc. of your target. But you won't have time to do that. Get a good barrel, buy good paint and you will have a good day.

lets just get this straight.
he is not talking about a scope. He is asking for recomendations on a red-dot sight. So, its not like it will take that long to aim with. There is no real problem with having one. It does add some surface area and weight but nothing extreme.
The problem with it is that your using it to avoid learning how to shoot in the conventional fashion which is to judge how to move your gun based on were the last ball went. Learn that and you wont need to spend your hard earned cash on a sight.
