Mask Fogging Situation-
My mask will sometimes fog, if I start to breath heavy.
Has anybody tried using Rain-x defogger applied it to ur lenses? Will it ruin it or make it better!
Feedback is welcome!!
Thanks!

if all else fails, go pick up a couple of 80mm computer fans and a 9v and install them on the sides of your mask. i used to do that(my old mask fogged the way my glasses fit

Why not look into picking up a thermal lense for the mask you have, or upgrade to a mask that comes with thermals?

The budget solution:
What used to work for me before I got some lenses with a inner anti-fogging lens (damnit I don't know what they are called okay), was a layer of that "glad" plastic stuff. You know, the transparent plastic that horribly clings to its self and nearly always makes a mess? If you take the time to put it on slowly, you can get all of the bubbles out.
Works like a champ and has never come off. I couldn't tell it was there if it was on good.

Just use rain-x/fog-x, save the moneya and go buyurself a new pair of goggles with therms lens built inwhen the time comes. Not to mention those goggles often come with some sort of extra bonus Isn't the proto switch f.s now even comes with a fan? lol thats major anti-fog gear right there..

one time i had to rent a mask and to fix the fogging i put some paper towel between the top and bottum foam. worked really good but the only problem was it got wet from my sweating and breathing heavy in a humid valley.

im tellin ya, its a whole heck of alot easier with two computer fans. ill see if i can dig up a pic of me with them on my mask. all it takes is the fans, a batter, and some zip ties or twist ties and your in the money

For ski goggles they used to sell some anti-fog stuff at the ski shop called Cat Crap (no kidding http://catcrap.com/). Maybe it would work for pb masks.

wait wiat. wouldnt' it be bad if the fan got hit? I mean, those computer fans arent' exactly made to withstand blows of over 250fps.
I think i get what your'e saying though.just mount them on the outside adn hook up a switch/battery mounted somewhere on teh inside where it won't bother you.

First start off w/anti-fog wipes. If that does not work go to a paintball store or a store that sells paintball stuff and ask them if they have a antifog mask for cheap. Dont go out and buy one of those $160 when you can get a good one 4 $30. Dont get 1 w/ a fan cause if it gets hit u r screwed, cause those fans cant withstand the blow of a paintball goin 275fps.

First of all if they are a certain type of goggle lense any cleaner could damage the lense and cause it to fog.

ive found two things that work well:
Kleer Vu no fog cloth. its basically a cotton cloth that has been saturated with an anti-fogging agent. you moisten your lens (with water...) and wipe it dry with the cloth. the water will cause some of the anti-fogging agent to come out and stick to the mask. it only costs $3, so you can buy it with the spare change from under your couch cushions or whatever, if you are on a budget, and its reuseable to some extent too. the first 10 applications will de-fog your mask really well, but after that it starts to wear off. mine has been used maybe 15 times, and i have to re-apply it every 4 hours or so. but its cheap and it works...
the other thing is the extreme rage zero fog kit. it comes with a tub of anti-fogging solution along with a microfiber cloth. the tub is very small, but its kind of like a blue paste, and its supposed to last a whole year. its $17, but i guess its worth it since it lasts the whole year... ive only had mine for a month, and ive had to use it at least 5 times on three different masks, and ive probablly used about 5% of the blue paste stuff, so i think it will actually last more than a year...

Step 1: Buy a Profiler.
Step 2: Enjoy not fogging.
