MY Mongoose Won't Shoot...Sorry
Hey, I'm new here, and I just got my first gun last week. My gun simply won't fire. I just got my tank filled about an hour ago (good thing to note: at Academy Sports they don't have a price for filling 16 oz, so the lady behind the counter just charged me for a 12 oz, $2.49. 4 ounces for free)
I have a Mongoose 2 reincarnation, LED. the gun is cocked, the battery is put in, the gun is turned on, the tank is screwed in, the hopper has balls in it, the thingy reads 400 PSI, which I know is too high. I could really use some troubleshooting advice, thanks.
I don't want to sound like I know anything, and I'm new to this forum so I don't know how you treat noobs here. Call me a noob to paintball if you want to. I am.

400 psi too high? no.
Mongoose operates at about 800 psi. Are you using the tank in cold weather? If so, take it inside and see if it works.
And charge the battery if it's not already.
When you pull the trigger does it click? Is the safety on?

Hey, I got the battery going, and it started shooting, but i think my tank leaked and now my PSI reads a little over 100, sometimes less, it keeps jumping, and whenever I fire, the bolt shoots forward, and the gun lets out a short burp.

Go get the tank filled again.
A blowback "burps" when the pressure is too low to recock the gun. The pressure doesn't push the striker back far enough for the sear to catch.

No. It can burp any amount of times if the pressure is too low to recock the gun.

If it burps multiple times, that usually means that you are out of co2. And your pressure should be higher than 100.

I just got it filled yesterday or the day before. it leaked a lot though because when i was tinkering with it i loosened some bolts, but now the bolts are tight. but i think it's probably got some CO2 left in it. I dunno maybe not though. but I can adjust the pressure per square inch though, can't I? If you own a mongoose this would help me alot

Is it set in semi? Put it in semi when you are testing it. I'll get my friends mongoose and try to help you out.

You cant adjust the pressure. When running your gun on co2, it take whatever pressure is in the co2 tank. There's no regulator on the tank. The tank is almost empty. A mongoose needs 800 psi to work right.
DO NOT TOUCH THE BOLTS ON YOUR TANK. Take it to an airsmith and get everything redone before you get it filled again. This is very dangerous.

very likely it could be out of CO2 even if u filled it yesterday... I got my tank filled at sports authority once and i got like 100 shots out of it. I assume academy sports is like that. The people that work their dont knwo what they are doin. Go to a field or paintball store, or you can try to get it refilled at Academy Sports but expect bad results again

Thanks a lot, everyone. After reading like half of this forum I've seen that these people are all pretty nice and trusting of each other, and seem devoted to the sport of paintball. Expect to see me here a lot more. I'll solve my problem, so I'm gonna stop harassing you guys.
PS though...
My tank meaures up to 1200 PSI... I see everyone talking about 800 PSI. Is a 1200 PSI gauge normal? Okay ater that's answered that'll be the end of this, I swear, haha.
