What kind of gun?
This is my first gun., I dont know what I should get. I have around $500 to spend; at this point I am leaning torwards an outkast autococker right now. If you guys have any better suggestions please tell me. I have also done my homework on autocockers so I already know that they take some time to tend to.
Thanks for replies

if you would like to get into the autococker, i would suggest starting out with a stock 04 vertical feed autococker. You can find these for around $300-350. Then you can spend the rest of your money on a barrel and other upgrades for the autococker. However, keep in mind that you will need a tank, mask, hopper just to play, and any gear like jersey's, pants, gloves, upgrades costs money.
Another option would be the new Smart Parts Ion, go to the Smart Parts forum to learn more about the new ion. It is an electronic marker for $285 that performs like a $500 marker.
For any autococker, or an ion you would need to get a Nitrogen system (also called compressed air tank)...these run at about $160-200. Try www.xtremepaintball.com for compressed air tanks...

cocker as first gun?
Just my opinion.. but I'm not sure an autococker would be a great idea for your first gun. I have a good bit of experience messing around with mine, and I'll tell ya straight up, they're tempramental, and sometimes even when you have touched, or fiddled with em at all, something will start leaking, or it'll get outa timing, or whatever else could happen. If you're ok with getting to the field an hour early to make sure you're gun is shooting right, and you don't mind missing a game or two to spend some quality time with an allen wrench set, an autococker might be for you.
I've shot, and been shot by the ion, and it's a steal and a half for under 300 bucks. I would highly recommend it as a first gun, and if you feel the neccessity to spend a large chunk of change on a new gun, you'll have alot more experience to help you make your decision.

Yeah. I'll agree with you there. Autocockers can be a pain especially if you have no prior experience. Ions are quite simple and will take no time to clean/repair/etc.

there nice guns but they are hell to handle... i would suggest the smart parts ion. It comes stock with eyes and is electronic. it can keep up with an imp and or shocker... its a nice gun (only 284) for a low price. Then you could spend the other money on a hoppoer, tank, jersey, mask etc

man illd go for an ion if you want new. theres also the option of buying used. you could get a nice angel or intimidator for that price. you def could get a great impulse for that. i know im probably leaving something out, but there are lots of good stuff.
peronaly in that price range illd go for the ion and put all the upgrade on it you can
you can get hold of a nice preset or a max flow for 150-200 and an ion for 300. whatever you do you might wanna look into a hp tank. that should give you 3-400 out of what you have

well you need hpa...thats about $170...plus a pack (if you don't have one a extreme rage or proto pack is good)
If you have a pack, then you could probably get an ion, new feed neck and trigger, and HPA for $500 exactly.

gamefaceowner: he has everything except a tank and gun...
look in the smart parts forum and in the ion stickies...i still say ion + nice hpa tank and tank cover. Put you'd need a new feed neck and trigger to tweak it a bit
