Question about starting gear...
I am just getting into the game and was looking around at some package deals with a cheap marker and mask/goggles and tank, etc.
I found this...
http://www.anythingxtreme.com/Piranh...6753C1819.aspx
At only about $80US it seems like a great deal, but was wondering if it was all it seemed to be, since I really don't know all that much about the sport. From what I've read on these forums the Piranha Black Maxx isn't that great of a marker, but I really need something in the $100 range, as my wife wants to get in on it as well ($100 each that is, total of $200 to spend).
So, would this be decent enough for starters for the price? Or does anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks.

i would buy separate and not as a package. id get a spyder xtra, 16-20oz co2, hopper, harness, and a jt mask w/ thermal lens. that what id get.. its very reliable and capable. you're going to get a lot of suggestions such as spyder/98cs/pirahnas/ect. they are all going to perform pretty much the same. id just go down to ur local store and hold each one, and see which feels better.

For a cheap package go for a Victor ii + barrel + 20co2 + proto EL or an xtra but a spyder img is better.

yeah if you're looking for a beginner gun, tippmann 98 would be your best bet because they're reliable, and plus you can upgrade EVERYTHING on them... it's crazy. So you start off with a cheap, but reliable gun, and then when you want to get better stuff later on, just upgrade different parts on your tippy.

lets set something straight. all spyders are the same on the inside.. the only diff is that the imagine has an electronic trigger, allowing you to shoot faster. and if I got a spyder it'd be an imagine becasue it's the best deal.

Happy birthday! She sounds like a good one, hang on to her. My wife wants me to finish college (about 1 year) before getting into paintball.
