98 came out before the custom. Custom is more upgradeable, but in the end, they are the same.

EEEWWWW... no... specially for you... a wgp gun is hell to take care of. The timing can go off, a piece could become lost, and its not easy field striping. I would say for you to get a smart parts gun or lower end timmy. youll like that

If you properly time your Autococker and don't mess with it it should stay timed for a year or so. When it does become un-timed it will most likely be the lug placement which is a quick fix anyway. I don't know how Autocockers pieces can be lost more easily than other pieces. Most important pieces are loctited in, and if they are not they usually have some other design that keeps the parts on (screws, pull pins, etc). Feild stripping consists of removing the bolt so you can clear out the top chamber, an activity you would have to do after you chop on the field. I'm gussing removing a pullpin and taking out a bolt is much more complicated then doing whatever it takes to get acess to the ION, Shocker, or Nerve breach.

However there are other reasons you should, or should not, get an Autococker. The main one being personal preference. Shoot it BEFORE you buy it, this way you know if you like it or not. Not everyone likes the feel to all markers.

yep to much work... lol... ok ok.. taking it apart in general is not as simple as it would be for an imp, shocker, nerve, ect.

Welcome to the forum! A 98 is definatly a great way to start, but like MOST, you will eventually want to upgrade, just shop around and get to know about the guns before you go buying anything to expensive.

Yeah..I looked at the smart parts ion...and I thought they were gonna be like angels in price..and from what I heard they are good guns..just from the few days I been on here...that will be the next gun unless tippman comes out with another gun...before i get around to buying that smart parts...Do ya'll get like word or something if a new gun is coming out or if a manufacture is in the process of makin one... And is there a good paintball magazine to subscribe to read about new guns and to get good info...
