First Marker
What would be a good marker for a noob? I'm thinking of getiing some sort of spyder, but I can't choose between a...
Rodeo
Imagine 2k5
Imagine 2k4
TL-X
Extra or a
Victor II.
Or you can reccomend something else. Please explain why you would reccomend the marker, and if it would need any upgrades right off the bat.I don't really want to spend more than $150 on the marker itself.I'm not looking for anything special just an all around good first marker that I will be able to upgrade as I get better.
Oh, one more thing There aren't any fields around where I live and no specialty shops either just a Wal-Mart so I will have to order online, please post a good online shop where I can buy the gun you reccomended
Thanks

we are not allowed to post any links to online shops other then xpaintball.com
out of those i would choose a victor II because it offers the best bang-for-the-buck out of the spyder line up. I would also recomend trying to find the original victor since it is cheaper and the only difference is that it lacks a forgrip. Then all you need is a good mask(Proto Switch for $25 or Vforce Profiler for $80), a 20oz CO2 tank($20), and a gravity fed hopper(VL200, $5)

Victor II would be a good first mechanical gun. If you want a little more speed, then I would say get an Imagine 05. Even tho its electronic, its still easy to maintain and not very confusing.

This just my personal preference but i would go with the 05 imagine. It is faster that the victor, electronic, and is way better stock. You can find the gun for 110 easy. Then i would buy a 20 ounce CO2 tank for 20 bucks. You may want to uprgrade to an electric hopper as well. The best cheap one is an Empire Reloader 2. They will run you about 45 bucks. Then I would get a mask like the Vforce armor mask for 20 bucks
That will run you about 195 for the gun+setup

if you were to put an electronic trigger on a victor !! it's cost more than buying an imagine..therefore an imagine is the best way to go.

All mechanical Spyders will shoot like the next mechanical Spyder. All electronical Spyders will shoot like the next electronical Spyder. Get whichever you could get for cheapest.

so will the imagine.
Thats why you should get a victor and concentrate on buying accessories that can be transfered to another marker(HPA, regulator, Hopper, clothes, mask).
The imagine will not help most new players' games, it will just help them waste more paint faster. techniques such as snap shooting, laning, ect. must be learnt before you can use an e-gun effectivly.
Too often do newer players with e-guns accomplish just as much as those with mechanical guns but expending twice as much paint in the process.

QFT. Getting universal upgrades is a good point. Also, working on skills with a mech will make you have to pick them up faster.
For new players:
Skills > Dumping paint.
My friend has a Victor, and its a great beginners marker.

Depends on what kind of ball your going to be playing. Woodsball, speedball. They all have different guns that work for either situation

Well looking at it that way, any gun can limit you later on. The techniques you mentioned can't exactly be mastered with a mech gun, snap shooting and laning. I started off with a Imagine, served me good, Im glad i didnt buy the Rodeo, then id have to spend more money and buy a different gun.

exactly my point, any entry level gun will limit a more experienced player. Hence why you should buy a cheaper gun and if you like the sport get a nicer marker quicker.

snap shooting can indeed be mastered with a mech gun just as easily as an electronic gun, and for various reasons it could be arguably easier to learn to snapshoot with a mech marker(just like it would be easier with a pump then a semi).
laning was a bad example because newer players aren't going to be able to lane effectivly no matter wether their marker is electronic or mechanical because of the recoil in any stacked-tube blowback(like spyders).

Mostly what i was trying to point is when i look at newer players that have the same amount of experience, the ones that have mechanical guns have more overall skill because electronic guns promote "spray and pray" and accuracy by volume.

Dont pour money into your first marker. Get a JJ ceramic barrel, a new hopper, maybe a unimount or asa with on/off. Your oging to get a enw gun, so get stuff you can take along with it.
