Chooseing a Pod Pack
Ok I have now reached the point that Im starting to fire off a lot of paint (even with a M98) and I would like to get a pod pack. My friend has suggested that I get a 4+1 horizontal pack. I have tried his on and I liked it, it seemed easier to grab a pod then when I "grabbed on form a vertical harness (I have not tried a vert one yet but I just reaching around behind me). He uses a remote so that style is a must. I dont plan on getting a remote as they seem to get in the way and I just dont see the point.
I doubt that I will need anymore then 4 pods as I will be using my Tippy for a while (school tends to drain a lot of money from my account) so a 3+2 or higher is not necessary. I am also registered for a Big Game in august and I was partly thinking that the tank pouch could be used as a but pack if I need to bring some extra stuff along.
So what do you guys think I should get?
PS I think I made a thread like this before but I cant remember the responses and I wanted fresh input. I have also put this in the "anything else" forum and I have yet to get a response.

i've got a 4+1 with a tank holder that i'll sell for $12, if you want it, it should be more than enough for your tippmann.

The harness that i have is the kind that holds 4 pods, 2 on each side with a tank holder in the back but I found that it was hard to pull the tubes out while hiding laying down behind a down tree or behind a bunker.
But I just ordered a Joey 3+4 Harness it should be here on the 2nd. and we will see how that works

I would suggest a vertical pod pack. I had a horizontal and hated it, it seemed to stick out my sides too much and get caught on crap in the woods so i stopped using it. Now i have a 3 pod Proto harness. It is vertical and incredibly comfortable. It has elastic at the top of the pod holder so that when you unstrap your pod it slides into your hand really easily. I reccomend it alot.

If you go with vertical one either get a Dye Attack Pack or an Empire Action Pack.

Get a Proto 3+2 or 4+3. It's comparable to the dye and cheaper. Id recomend the 4+3. That way you can upgrade later to seven pods. I'll explain. The plus three or pluses are usually not full on pod holders. On the proto they are three elstic bands in the middle of the rest of the pods that disappear when you only use four pods. I use it and love it because for rec I can carry just four fine and seven for tourneys if I need em. You can order directly from Dye/ Proto (same company). Use their website www.protopaintball.com or their phone #858-536-5183. Pick yourself up some nice pods as well. The protos are great flip lids while the dye has a great locking system. You will be able to keep this system even after you upgrade your gun and it doesnt cost that much. 4+3 =$49.95

This is driving me nuts Im torn between the proto 3+2 and a hor 4+1. I do tend to play speedescqe ball more (the field I play on has a supp air and some buildings) in that case would a vert pack be better for me?
I live North of the border that proto pack runs 60$ which is about as high as Im willing to go.

go to protopaintball.com so to shopping and you'll see. I don't know shipping prices. They use UPS. I just got some pants 7 pods and a 4+3 For $12 shipping. sorry 3+2 is $44.95 a 3 is $34.95.pods from there are $3.75 a piece. and the dye locking lids(same company) are $29.95 for a six pack.
Their 3+2 is $64.95 for a light attack and for an attack pack pro $99.95.
So as I said before go with the proto. You get dye quality at affordable prices. Go to the site to see pics. If you need, find a local store that carries them and see what they will sell them for. I found a proto 4+3 for $45 at my local store, discounted for store members.
Look around see what you like and go with it. I'm just saying you wont be disappointed with the proto. Also a 3+2 is the same price as a 4 which is five bucks cheaper than a 4+3. Id still go 4+3. Shipping is the same so in the end it's five bucks for an upgrade in the long run you'll be happy with.
