Overstock Options
I'm new to this forum and fairly new to paintball. I have played several times but haven't gotten serious enough or the money enough to buy a marker. I decided to look at overstock.com because i have bought some other items there for a good price and that worked fine. But this time I'm not really sure if any of the guns here are worth buying. So if you want to help me, which I will appreciate much, try going there and searching for "paintball gun" you should see several different guns there all within my price range. It says the list price on some of these is much higher than the price for the gun actually being sold. If you could give me a good reccomendation from these- or another site even-you will help a lot. Thanks.

well, i just looked at the paintball stuff on there and I wouldnt recommend any of the guns on there. Go with a spyder imagine or an ion for your first gun

Ok thanks none of those appealed to me a whole lot but it would be saving a lot of money. At least according to the list prices.

Well I don't really have a pirce range cuz I make money regularly not with a real job (I mow lawns) but I just don't want to save up a whole lot and burn it all on a gun when I still have to buy the other stuff and I won't be a really serious player, but my price range is anywhere from 0-150 and I might make an exception and buy one a little bit more expensive than that only if it's well worth it.

I'd get an imagine if you aren't going to be a super serious player, that should do you more than fine. Or if you will be playing more woods, get a 98c, those are very nice too.

Great guns to start out with in a good price range. The Imagine would really fit your price range well. Then when you've got a good amount of money after buying an Imagine you can get some upgrades for better performance

Don't forget to buy an e-hopper, try to get something that can feed around 12 bps.

All set and all the sites are right there

imagine $110
reloader II ~$50
20oz co2 $20
flex 7 ~$50
u really NEED a good mask. U want comfort and something that won't fog. The imagine is a good gun and is plenty quick, the reloader II will make sure u don't chop as u shoot so fast.
A future upgrade would be a barrel, we like the cp 1 piece and jnj 1 piece for good cheap barrels.
Remember, in paintball u get what u pay for.

There's a "New 04 Spyder Imagine" on ebay for '82.95= buy it now'... well actually there's three of them currently. Seems like a good enough deal.

I was looking at the specs for spyder imagines and i noticed it said "includes 9v battery and charger" What on the gun uses a battery and is it possible to operate the gun without using the battery?
Also I was looking at specs for a Spyder Rodeo and I came across "Ported Muzzle Break Barrel" What does that mean?

u must use a battery. It has a switch which the trigger hits telling the board to activate the selinoid dropping the sear which makes it fire by sending the hammer forward. It won't work w/ out it.
no ****ing idea, stock barrels suck anyway (at least from kingman)

That'd be an awesome setup for you. Even if your not going to get too serious into paintball it wouldn't cost you a whole lotta money so you could just play once a month or so and it would be good for you.

I'm sure it would be pretty cool but I don't need anything real fancy I just want a good dependable accurate gun. IT doesn't have to be a real fast shooting gun because I'm very conservative with my shots. The most important thing to me in a gun would be accuracy. So what would be the best gun within the 0-150 price range that meets those expectations the best?

All mechanical spyders are the same. All electronic spyders are the same. The main differences are some very very very very subtle things, and milling.

i would reccomend this setup for a starter
spyder victor 2 ($55)
20oz c02 tank ($20)
j&j 14" barrel ($40)
and a decent mask($40-$60)
this way you wont have to worry about a battery or a hopper which costs like 50 for a revvy or reloader 2. With the extra money you dont spend on the hopper you can get a better barrel. With this setup you should have a pretty accurate dependable, but a little bit slow gun. Nothing fast just like 4-7bps, which is great for a beginner.
And it will only cost you about $170 with everything you need.
