How do you get more accuracy?
Do you upgrade barrel? What else is there to it? I just bought a paintball gun a few days ago, fired off a few rounds (bout 500), and noticed it's accuracy wasnt as well as the first time I got it. I've only increased the VA a few notches.

especially a barrel kit, allthough they are rather expensive, matching the bore size of the paintball to bore size of the barrel helps a lot

If you have an adjustable regulator on the gun, sweetspot it. Check the stickies in the autococker section of this forum on how to do it. It doesn't matter if your gun is an autococker or not.
Get a good bore-to-paintball match with your barrel. Accuracy will improve somewhat if they match well. You can either find paintballs that match your current barrel, or get a different barrel (including one with different backs or inserts to help match th ebore to your paintballs). One good barrel is the Freak Kit by Smart Parts, it has inserts in different sizes to match up bore to paintball. Empire also makes several different kits that do the smae thing with different backs instead of inserts. Several other companies also have similar products. Find one you like and can afford. Try out different kits people at your local field have and make up your own mind though, don't just get a kit because someone told you it was the best one.
Both of these will help you accuracy, but keep in mind that a paintball gun will never be as accurate as a real firearm or even a pellet gun, physics just won't allow it. I hope this helps.

A beginning paintball gun - Spyder Xtra. So the longer the barrel the more accurate or is it how the barrel was manufactured with aftermarket minds? Is it a wise idea to upgrade a spyder xtra because I met a balling-freak who told me that spyder products aren't very........ dependable.

it is all about paint to bore match.. decent barrel but no longer than 14 o 16 max... guns have a perfect setting takes alittle fine tuning to find it sometimes.. but they will perform there best there...and sometime a velocity to high will make a ball fly crrazy

actually, all paint companies call their balls .68, but they aren't always that size. You have to take the ball put at the end of the barrel. If the ball falls out, the barrels to big. If the ball sticks but you cant blow it out with little force, its to small. If it sits at the end and can be blown with out much effort, its just right.

The #1 way to improve accuracy is the paint your using. If one play is using wal-mart zap paint and other is using marbalizers theres a huge difference in accuracy.
The #2 is the barrel.

Ya, paint to barrel is imprtant, but it seems like its more of the paint ur using. Im guessing ur using crap white box or seconds or something? if you buy a box of chronic or wpn, you will find a huge difference.

No, actually I was using EVIL paintballs ( just because they're more expensive im guessing they're better than the others at my local paintball shop and the dude recommended me these for initial setup shooting.) But for target practices, VA settings, and animal cruelty I use orange Brass Eagle paintballs.

Well there is many different reasons it could have been inaccurate (its only going to be accurate to an extent, you cant shoot a hopper and expect EVERY shot to be ball on ball) The paint could have been a bad batch, could have a broken ball, could have been the barrel, could have been ur gun. The first thing i would do is buy a different box of paint. Oh and more expensive isnt always better.

To make it simple for you, dont get a barrel over 16", and make sure the bore size matches with the barrel size. Get a cheap barrel kit and you will be fine.

Kits are too much to deal with and I prefer not switching barrels every now and then. I want something with dependability, accuracy, and low noise levels. A barrel between $75 - $130 would be just fine. And if in time I decide to buy a new paintball gun I could just get a barrel adapter. I'd rather use more money for the quality, accuracy, and noise level. JW do they make barrels that are accurate but has a LOUD shot.?
