COCKING BOLTS + questions

What's the side cocking bolt? I read that upgraded side cocking bolts gives you more air flow = more power + accuracy + ball durability. Is that true? Also, does upgraded rear cocking bolts improve any extra airflow at all? Upgrading a rear cocking bolt doesn't improve any performance does it...? EXPANSION CHAMBER KITS = is it really necessary to upgrade it? Same performance but better looks im guessing or am I wrong? Thanks for info.

The side cocking bolts is what is like in a tippy 98 custom, that little knob towards the back that sticks out the side. Im not totally sure if its true but it might, and any bolt will help you with preformance as long as its a good bolt. Expansion chambers...well it would be good to upgrade it but its not too important.

the style of the bolt doesnt affect performance, just the way you cock it. for tippmanns because of the way they are set up, it is much easier to have it be side cocking. but they have rear-cocking kits available for them. and in tippmanns, the thing that you cock on the side is not actually the bolt, it is the hammer. the hammer is linked to the bolt through the linkage arm. and side cocking and rear cocking bolts will give you the smae performance, again, its just the way things are set up.... you could cock it from the front or the bottom and it would still have the same performance.

when looking for a new bolt, get something that is delrin or nylatron, and has no o-rings, and is also open-faced (no venturi). the only thing a venturi does is make you have bad air effeciency. if your bolt has a venturi i would recommend taking it outwhen i did thst to mine, it instantly went up 15 fps. thats a good sign of air effeciency.

as for expansion chambers, they are only for use with co2. if you have nitro an expansion chamber will probablly do more harm than good. but what it does to co2 is give it a little extra space before going into the gun to expand from a liquid into a gas. this helps with consistency and is also better on moving parts and o-rings in your gun, so it isnt just for looks.

the style of the bolt makes no difference. unless ur dtalking about derlin bolts steel bolts aluminum etc.

closed bolt guns are the most accurate.
by closed the breech is closed and no ball can enter until the bolt is retracted

it slows it down a little bit, and its just something else to worry about breaking. you dont need them, so most people dont even bother. the only thing that they are good for, however, is reducing blowback. although you are going to have blowback anyways on a low end gun, so again most people dont bother.

Yeah, im talking about that, Delrin bolts would probably be your best bet when it comes to preformance...

How much accuracy and speed is improved from your Shocktech bolt? (BTW my marker isn't a side cocking marker) Is installing a rear cocking bolt a *****?
