1. Is airsoft cheaper than paintballing?
2. Is airsoft easier to play than paintballing?
3. Do paintballs hurt more than 6mm bbs?

1. Yes it is. Unless your sponsored.
2. Yeah probably, paintball is really easy once you get used to it.
3. Yeah, when you get shot for your first time, but then the adreniline kicks in and you truly dont care.
4. NO, HELL NO, NEVER SAY THAT AGAIN.
Welcome to PBF.

1) Equipment is comparably priced (for quality airsoft, not walmart crap), but airsoft rounds are much cheaper than paint.
2) As far as difficulty that depends on you, your opponents, and the type of game. If you just mean playing in general then yes. Airsoft is not as popular as paintball in most places, so its harder to get a game together, although some pb fields allow airsoft on alternative days.
3) They both hurt about the same imo, but either way you will get used to it pretty quickly.
4) I greatly prefer paintball over airsoft, but if you are more into military simulation airsoft is better as far as equipment goes. There are quite a few great military scenario events set up for paintball all over the place however, and milsim games are becoming more popular. To each his own. Hope this helps a little.

1. The ammo is cheaper, but if you want a quality semi-auto gun , it will probably cost more than a paintball marker.
2. If you buy a cheaper gun (under $100, or manual cocking) no.
3. They hurt about the same
4. Why in the hell would you ask that on a PAINTBALL forum?

1 in the long run airsoft is cheaper
2 they are both evenly difficult.. but all in all it depends on you, your style, and how well you play with the others on your team.
to answer question 3 it depends where you get shot but the type of pain is different where the 6mm bb gives a stinging sensation and the paintball is more of a pang feeling.
4. it depends what game type you play they are two different ypes of games and each requires a different way of thinking and tactics. in general i would say paintball is more fun to me.....

Actually, the guns that most airsofters use, not the cheap ones that you get from walmart or sporting goods stores shoot at about 330+ fps, where as paintball markers are limited to under 300. The cheapo ones are around 220-270 fps. Its a different pain, but neither really hurts more than the other.

^ Not all true, Airsoft Spring Pistols average feet per second (FPS) is usually between 150-250 fps. Airsoft Spring Rifles usually shoot 250-300 fps. I used to play for like a week...and got bored and like, now paintball, 3 years is sweet. Airsoft SUCKS!

i think people worry to much about getting hurt..
its like getting a shot.. when your driving there you imagine the worst pain and blood and everything and once you get there its just alittle sting.

Airsoft ammunition in order to have the same impact of a paintball would have to be going pretty dran fast and airsoft round are fired faster than paintballs I believe.

airsoft is fun..only in the backyard with spring pistols.
paintball is 10x more fun. the first time you go paintballing youll think your an idiot for asking that next time you see this thread lol.
you tend to not feel airsoft hits unless it hits bare skin though.

airsoft only hurts if you are <20 feet away. And airsoft guns are all plastic. Paintball owns airsoft
and if youre afraid of pain, go play lasertag lol

ahhh.. an airsoft convert, you are not alone for i too used to walk in the way known as airsoft...ROFL
1. at first airsoft will seem much more ecspencive(if you get a good quallity AEG) but in the long run paintball is more pricy.
2. where i live no, ppl just dont like the site of anything that resembles a gun
3. if you play wth upgrades airsoft guns(~330-400 fps) then they hurt about the same. force = mass/speed
4. first of all, what were you thinking...
I'd say no, and that pb is better because:
1.its easiyer to find actual fields.
2.Pb is a more widly accepted sport that airsoft
3.ppl dont like guns, or even replicas of them

That statment about all airsoft guns being all plastic is not true my M4 is all metal, and so is my Colt 1911. Only those cheapo guns are ALL plastic
