Been looking at markers for a while, need help...
I have been looking around at different pb markers for a while and looking for a good one to buy after I play pb a few more times. The first gun that realy attracted me was the pro/carbine as I wanted a durable gun for some recball that I could get some cool mods for. Now I hear they wont be making the gun or parts for them I am dissapointed I was hoping to look into the pc because It wasn't another damn 98c. Now I neede to know what other kind of marker I should research that fits my needs? thanks
keep in mind this will be recball, so a good deal of running aorund in the woods. Also, I just want something affordable and good for woddsball. but, no 98c's!!!!

Alright, if you want a good woodsball gun. Go for a Procarbine or 98 Custom (Tippman). And if your going to play speedball, a Spyder would be your best bet.
EDIT: Then forget the 98 custom because you just edited your post...I wouldn't go with another tippman then if you already had one. Get a spyder or be a follower and get an ion (Ions i dont recommend because they...suck ).

Now Alpha don't try to convert this one to Magism. Mags are good, but to much $$ and not enough performance IMO.

You play woods then get a A-5. I'd say go for 98c. The A-5 is a bigger more weighable version of the 98c. I'd say 98c but, why dont you like them???
If you play woodsball get a syder xtra (or any mech) and safe up for halo B and Hpa tank. Once you get halo B and tank then switch to the Ion or if you can offord something better.

I would not recomend getting an Xtra then saving up for a Halo and Tank. He might not ever want an electronic gun.
Really Tippmann is the best way you can go with woodsball and reliablity.

If he doesn't want a 98c then a good choice that would be reliable would be a Mag. They are very durable and not every kid and his fat cousin have one.

go to a local field and just hold a few guns and if you can shoot a few.. the most important thing is the fit and feel... you wont be happy with any guy if it doesnt feel good to you......

He just said those upgrades because they are universal, so if he gets a new, higher end gun, he will not have to spend money on another hopper and tank. Its pretty smart if ya think about it

definitely....try not to get too many marker specific upgrades unless you are planning to keep that marker for quite a while, or forever....so you can transfer your tank, hopper, drop? and hmm...maybe grips? to a new marker
is a mech cocker really a good beginner marker? I'm no expert on cockers but I don't know if they're as easy to work on (by yourself) as spyders or tippys...a mag may be good for him...but then again how much are you willing to spend?

I dont likes 98cs cause everyone has them. I wonder if I got a ProCarbine and a Parts Kit if that would be an ok purchase. Cause I really, really like the feel of that marker and It's not a 98c.

Then get a carbine. You'll be able to get parts for it. I seriously don't see that ever being a problem, even if they do discontinue making them.

The Pro Carbine are very reliable markers as well. A lot like the 98c. If you don't like the 98c but like the Pro Carbine then go ahead and get one of those.
